I miss old videos; now they are only breakdowns, huge python scripts, and digital asset ad 😢

yeah good to know. I'll make more specific ones in the future. do you have anything specific in mind? And if youtube is not paying me properly, I need to find other ways, hence the ads :)

I love these kinds of breakdowns since you get a good grasp of what a full project could look like in a real production setting (im guessing). In depth tutorials are amazing for specifics, so I'd like to see both! If it's not too much to ask.

it's a bit impressive for a beginner, but it's certainly a good way to see the overall look of the project. Thanks Arvid!

Looks awesome bro! Currently learning Solaris and wanted to know more about why you decided to approach the scene from the OBJ panel as opposed to Solaris USD workflow.

@@arvidurs if you find a solution, I would love to see a video about that! From what I‘ve heard the Deadline folks have gotten quite a bit slower since they were bought by Amazon.

This is great. Quick question, I have a dual boot setup Linux Mint 21.2 / WIndows 11 22H2... I have my drives mounted properly in Linux. My d: in windows is /mnt/data_disk/ in Linux. I would love to setup a custom $ and use that for projects between to two boots. How is that done? I use $HIP now which works, but only in the houdini folder structures. My projects are organized outside the houdini project folder as well. Thanks Arvid... Long time subscriber, back in the early Arnold days.

Hey Todd, you can just set a system wide env variable that point to the equivalent paths per os and then you can just read it like $PROJECT/caches and it should resolve in either OS

@@arvidurs It worked perfectly: $D_DRIVE=d:\ $D_DRIVE=/mnt/data_disk Thank you so much Arvid. Sometimes the easiest way is the best way... this was so so simple.
