Skyzone SKY 03O FPV goggle disassembly.

I bought the Camo version of these Goggles. I flew a 10 packs yesterday with them for the first time. The goggles are better than my Fatsharks in ever way except the receiver. I was hoping the built-in receiver would be equivalent to or better than my True-D. Unfortunately, the built-in receiver is good, but not as good as my True-D on my Dominator V3's. Range is less with more static and noise. Almost unusable when flying concrete parking garages with multi-level (My True-D could handle this situation). I have a Dock King and I'm ordering a TBS Fusion. I'll just use my tripod with Dock King and Fusion with these goggles. Truly, the receiver is good if you're flying close/medium with few obstructions. If Skyzone comes out with some sort of new shell or some other interface that would allow me to use an external module that would be awesome ! Bottom line is that I am 1000 times more satisfied with these goggles over Fatshark. They actually correctly fit my face and feel much better. The screens are amazing. The DVR is 1000 times better quality with NO audio de-sync like Fatshark and much easier to playback DVR in goggles. I can plug any 4S or 6S lipo into the goggles. Fatshark needs to come out with something new, not just the same thing over and over.

Built-in receivers are just receivers my brother, your module has also receiver in it but it probably has more additional software to make you feel like the range is better but it is not. Maybe you should consider try better antennas for what you are doing and see if there is a difference.

I think you could solder the rapid-fire on to the receiver module or make a connector which let you plugin your module the only iseu would be a little case to stik to the side. Mod possibilities are there 🤔

@@TweetFPV Dang, those 2 ribbon cables on the bottom of the receiver module board are a pain to get back on. Spent 30 minutes trying and pretty sure I just bent all the pins instead of them inserting properly. Did you get yours connected fine?

After everything was back together I found that black sticky tape I forgot to put back on the screen module ribbon cables. Hopefully that was for security and not shielding interference...because I'm not taking them apart again.

Very interesting video. The AV module has a button above the headphone jack (Timecode 15:20) . Where is that for. From the outside is it not to use?

It's for putting the unit into dfu mode for firmware updates.

When will companies learn that exposed RF traces is bad they should be as short as possible or ideally not exposed at all and the bend in the right trace is even worse. Also it looks like the problem with the case is the flashing left over on the left clip if you compare the two at 19:25 you'll see it.

Looks like the rxs are pretty integrated into the main board. If adapting an external rx is possible I doubt it'll be straightforward.

I think just going onto the backside of the av in plug would be fairly straight forward and run an external module as a aux input.

Question! :) - maybe a dumb one. Do these support quad audio? I see it has audio out, but I can't find anywhere that specifically says it's receiver supports audio from the quad.

Yes, they do receive audio from the Quad with a microphone connected to the Vtx or built into the Vtx.

wish i saw this before or paid better attention.. i had to fix my sma port twice (skyzone did offer to fix but im impatient and sma port is cheap) I couldnt figure out how to unplug that ribbon cable that is on both sides.. you lifted black bar.. ugh.. I had to solder with little room the bottom of sma port.

My 030s are maybe 2 months old and all of a sudden they start beeping in the middle of a flight, then they just turn off. They've done this at full battery, 75% and 50% battery. I assume this means they're junk since I can't trust them. When it starts beeping I have to get low, find a safe path back to myself and fly as fast as I can towards myself because I'm going to have to disarm when they shut off. Before this started happening, the front camera went from being able to see enough to walk around to nothing but static and everything it sees is different shades of green. So the front camera is completely uselss.

Wow, sounds like you might have some issues. Although I did experience mine beeping and turning off. I found out that I wasn't moving my head enough and it triggered the auto power off feature.

Yea it's a nice feature untill it causes a crash. I don't have my o30 anymore but I think there was a option to turn that off but I can't remember.

@@TweetFPV That was the problem. I was holding my head too still while flying. I started shaking my head sometimes and they stopped shutting off. NOW I am sometimes getting rainbow colored vertical lines in the screen while I fly. It comes and goes. Sometimes the entire screen goes to vertical colored lines and I have no video anymore and have to disarm. Have you ever heard of this problem? I'm thinking maybe a bad connection to the screens? I'm glad you did this video so I can reference it when I have to take them apart to check the connections.

nice, love teardowns, my sky02vplus had one ocular weirdly grinded down, looked very unprofessional compared to the domv3s, they used the binoculars how they came from the manufacurer, attached together with a steel rod, wich made working on the interior of the goggels much easier, the sky 02s fell apart pretty stupidly, when I opened the case. the big question is, WHERE IS THE DJI GOGGLE TEARDOWN. THIS would be VERY interesting I would think, so why is nobody doing that...

Will they be doing a re-release of these goggles with modular bay? Probably a dislodged cable from the driver board to the display module. I would contact rdq before you attempt to open them up. Rdq has the best customer service around.

Three hours later and they haven't read the email or ticket. Mind you in the call I said it was a rush order and I would be willing to pay for expedited shipping/service. After the three hours I call again. This time I'm told that I will have to wait in line until the other tickets are processed. I told the rep I have my first and last race of the season coming up and I need the goggles fixed or replaced asap. They said once they get to my ticket they will forward it to skyzone. Doesn't sound asap. I guess I'll miss this race. I understand the fairness of working on tickets as they are submitted but if someone's in a pickle and willing to pay to fix the it....

4s Quad time is all dependent on how you fly. Typical freestyle for me is about 3 to 3.5 minutes. The Fpv goggles last all day on a charge.

Banggood have good customer service. I have spend some thousands $ with them and never had an issue with contacting them for any issues, Best to contact live support and they resolve it then an there. Try it before you word them off

Le démontage Hdo2 a déjà été fait. Hdo2 a changé de l'ancien moule. Elles sont meilleures que les anciennes lunettes mais pas les meilleures. Je dois dire que rapidfire est en grande partie lié au mélange rapide, mais le rapidfire était le premier et les autres ne sont que des copies.
