Cool, loved the low clouds and rain and the layers of clouds after takeoff.

Great to have full thrust for a long time....usually after 1000 ft the engines are slowed down....4:01 Can't wait to get back in the air.

The Big T they have to be under 250kts under FL10 so the cut back is slowing down to prevent I think

@@aviationmaliq132 sorry for late comment but they reduce power at around 1k feet for fbo/airline purposes, airliners dont want to overstress the engines and it gives them less maintenance costs

I have wondered what makes an airplane engine buzz like that. It’s funny because when you takeoff, the engine buzzes, then after a while it goes away. I would love an answer to this interesting question.
@sla314 жыл бұрын
That's a great question, and actually has a pretty simple answer. During takeoff and initial climb is when the engines are running at full power. When at full power the fan blades are, of course, spinning faster than at any other time during flight. The buzzing, or roaring sound that you hear during takeoff, is a sound caused by the tips of the fan blades spinning faster than the speed of sound. What you're hearing is many small sonic booms, caused by the tips of the blades moving faster than the speed of sound. After the initial climb, once the air starts to get thinner, and less power is used, the sonic booms go away, because the fan blades are no longer spinning faster than the sound barrier. Thanks for watching my friend!
@MartinNeep2 жыл бұрын
Actually, the sound doesn’t dissipate because the engine is going slower. At typical takeoff weights and temps, a -700 derated to 20K will takeoff with 83-88% N1. As the aircraft climbs and the EEC gradually increases the climb thrust limit to 24K, N1s will top out at about 98-99% N1. Typical cruise power at moderate weights and a cost index of 30 or less will be 85-88% N1. The real reason the sound diminishes during the climb is simply because the air density decreases. Sound waves cannot propagate so easily in thin air and so the intensity of the sound is attenuated.

Do they have meds that will take away the fear of flying?
@bigd-1-channel5144 жыл бұрын
Go to the local airport, and get an introductory flight in a Cessna. You will have fun, and never fear flying again.

They have Dramamine at airports which really work for motion sickness. I have really bad anxiety but a 1 hour flight from Dallas to Lubbock Texas was smooth and took away the edge I had for my next couple of flights. Try shorter flights. At least that worked for me. Also get an aisle seat if you are claustrophobic. I am but the aisle seat helps alot. I hate middle seats and window seats. I start to panic.

Is Southwest the only airline to fly out of Love Field?
@Pedrito25134 жыл бұрын
Nope, Alaska and Delta also fly out of Love Field.

Alaska. Horizon. Delta. Skywest. Southwest.

I have seen these airlines at Love Feild, Southwest, Alaskan Horizon, Alaskan, Delta, Virgin America before the Alaskan merger, and Allegiant (flying a charter flight.). Occasionally you’ll see some NAVY aircraft as there is a Naval ramp at the airport.

@@sla31 Jeez. That looks like a 1000 dollar sony camera or something.
@sla314 жыл бұрын
That's true, but look at it this way. Most people buy an iPhone to use as their phone/handheld computer. They cost over $1,000. My iPhone 11 Pro, since I wanted the larger hard drive, cost me over $1,400. But I don't look at is as buying a phone. I had a perfectly good iPhone X that had no issues. I looked at is as buying a $1,400 camera, that also makes phone calls haha. One of the reasons that phones are so expensive now, is because people expect them to have awesome cameras. And awesome cameras are expensive. When you buy a new phone, one of the reasons it's so expensive, is because of the cameras. So, if you look at it like that, it should be just as good as a $1,000 stand alone camera.

Can anyone recommend a seat on a 737-800 that is best for engine buzz?
@sla314 жыл бұрын
For engine buzz you just want to be in front of the engine. As long as you are in front of the engine blades, you’ll heat it. I prefer row 4 on Southwest’s 737-700’s. The 800 though. Not sure. I don’t fly southwest’s 800’s very often.

Just out of curiosity do you happen to have any elite status on the airlines?
@sla314 жыл бұрын
I do. I fly enough to maintain status on two airlines. Currently I have status on American and Southwest. Gold on American, A-List on Southwest. If I flew only American I'd fly enough to hit Platinum Pro.

@tb905-b2o4 жыл бұрын
yep...LOL
@bburkie554 жыл бұрын
No you're not. If you don't like the engine buzz sit behind the engines. The buzz is caused by the fan blade tips moving faster than the speed of sound during their rotation and is only audible when you sit in front of the engines.
