Remember flying hawaiian AND Aloha airlines intercontinental in 90s and early 2000s. What lovely smells and fights during these times. Keep those hawaiian videos coming!

Thank you for sharing. Happy 4th of July to you. If you are still there in Hawaii then you have it so good!!! I mean boy oh boy!!! On the holiday today Monday and in Hawaii!! Just nice... I hope this flight was not crowded and that you did not have any one next to you!!!

And it is nice when the cockpit knows the takeoff length of the runways for their aircraft with consideration of a few factors!!! Nice...It seems the 3/4 of the length of the long runway was enough as the aircraft turned left into a takeoff mode!! nice.

It is so nice to see the Ocean Reef Runway there and an aircraft is lining up to use it. There at 35:24! Very nice...

Pilot: why should I roll to the beginning of the runway? Co: yes, lets do a dynamic takeoff starting half of the runway!
@tomsamuelson85122 жыл бұрын
I think that is a 11,000ft runway, and from where he took off he had 6500 ft left to use...Good enough for a 717 lightly loaded.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
As Tom mentioned, KOA does have an 11,000 foot runway, and 6,500 feet is plenty for a 717. That said, as a private pilot myself, I was always taught to use all available runway to give you the most time possible to plan if there’s a problem. Anyway, thanks for watching guys.

Nice clear flight all the way from KOA to HNL. I liked the B717 better when they had the softer seats as originally purchased by HAL.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
You and me both. Thank goodness the flights are so short, otherwise no one would ever be able to enjoy the world class tourist attractions Hawaii has to offer because their backs would be too sore from Hawaiian's 717 seats haha.

Great short flight. Do they have a economy extra.
@sla312 жыл бұрын
Hawaiian has was called “extra comfort” on their A321’s and A330’s. I think they charge extra for the extra rows and bulkhead on the 717’a but they’re not technically extra comfort seats.

Great fly! Have you heard people was evacuating at JFK Airport Terminal 4 due to unattended bag?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
I did hear about that. Makes me wonder what lead up to it. Bags are left unattended at airports all over the country every day and it usually doesn’t force an evacuation.

First and how do you film the camera on the window do you like duck tape your iPhone to the window of the airplane
@sla312 жыл бұрын
No adhesives involved. Using something to physically stick the phone to the aircraft is a good way to get the flight attendants mad at you. I hold the camera by hand and to make sure I get the vest footage possible.

This was actually 8L. 8R, the famous reef runway, is the runway visible in the thumbnail that you can see before we like up for 8L.
@gatechfan1232 жыл бұрын
Why do they have that last second turn into RWY 8L
@sla312 жыл бұрын
It's an approach that is often used for Hawaiian's 717's to slot them in front of other, larger, traffic already lined up miles out. It's fairly common for the island hop arrivals form Kahului, Hilo, and Kona.

The ad revenues form the channel haha. Seriously, that covers a lot of it now, but not all of it. It’s a big chunk of it though.
