You can also use an electric knife to cut the foam. I do upholstery and the electric knife is a key tool for foam

I hope you see this comment even though this is an older video. I looked for part 2 of this video, but the only part 2 I found had pressed plates (in foam) but no feet added. I really want to know how you do a pressed plate in foam then turn it over and add a foot without destroying the integrity of the plate.

Hi Jessica, I don't know if you are using a iphone for the video but I like it better when you use the camera and get a bigger view of everything. The Iphone sometimes does not come out that great. I love your video's and love learning from you. wish you would go back to camera. thanks

Hi Jessica, Just want to say that I love your videos. I have learned a lot from them. You are a good teacher. Where do you get the wire hangers that you use to hang the plates on a wall. Thanks and best regards, Joe

Jessica, may I ask the model number on the Bailey wheel? Is it the Pro X? I am looking to make a purchase and love the idea of a fully enclosed wheel. Thanks! David

I've watched numerous videos on slab building. Enjoyed yours too. Why is that no one ever states what kind of clay they are using? That's pretty important. What kind of clay are you using?

I believe she is using porcelain clay. She has it written on the form she cuts from, that this shape is for porcelain clay. (it cracks more in hand building so slow changes are necessary, as in drying etc.

You can use plastic to dry it evenly and the forms you make are important. When it bakes, the "stresses" can cause cracking. Because when it bakes it relaxes and expands, and so the form is important. very difficult for hand building so maybe the idea is make it so it goes in rather than ut. Sort of makes sense if you think of it like a hot relaxed form, if it is hot, going in would have more strength.

ALOT of talk -talk-talking! Never did finish even after 50 minutes. Never showed separating the cylinder into separate foot rings or attaching. How do you separate the cylinder into separate rings? Should the clay be leather hard or what?

I notice you cut with a knife vs a needle tool, is there a reason or is it just your preference?
