That is correct. In my time I never told anyone what color of candy and flakes I was coming dine with but I chose emerald Green if anyone came with emerald Green before me I definitely wasn't. Everyone in our car club set out to be much more different than the next car like ours. Customized low lows is our thing suicide doors cost a whopping low price of 500 for both rear doors in the early 90s, fender skirts a must, we would go as far as splitting the trunk and hood an tilting forward doghouse/front end, if it wasn't a drop top we would cut off the top and make a drop top. All of our members played a role in building our cars I was the engine builder and body man we have a painter and switch man aka hydraulics. We don't bang buckets or originals. I really enjoyed this video definition and history of Slabs it's no different than our culture just a different style of ride. Love and respect from dine South Kentucky.

I would like to add that I believe the design of the slabs were influenced by Texas' image. Big and relaxed. Alot of the old big money guys who wore cowboy hats drove those big convertible cars as a sign of status or boss symbolism.

Later Cragar, bought the Patent then , continued creatin' the Starwires including the 84s and 83s. Then Texan Wire Wheels bought the Patent in Mid 2000s. And continued creatin' the Starwires. Also, Truespoke, will soon continue creatin' the Starwires.

The people that produced this documentary are the ones who brought em back mayn!! Texan Wire Wheels is where u get the 83'z & 84'z nowadays.. Different size center posts and all, depending on how far u want the spokes to poke..

they are NOT 83s nor 84s....those are crager wheels!! 30 spoke starwires wheel with extended spokes and the tww cap on them. TWW calls them 83s,4s for marketing purposes.

@juannavarro3620 the DESIGN makes them 83z & 84z, NOT the brand or the marketing scheme.. So yes, they ARE 83z & 84z.. Cragar never patented the term, sooo.. I can even tell you what TWW did differently than what Cragar did.. Instead of using PEWTER for the center hub, TWW uses stainless steel for the center hub.. Pewter loses its integrity over time, and exposure to the elements.. Stainless doesn't..

@@tavarezrichardson8782 If you want to see what the real 83s/84s look like google Appliance wire wheel, and you will see these tww are no where near the same design. if you search on your phone go down till you see a wire wheel on a royal seal tire (like a vogue tire but the gold line is closer to the rim and white wall is outside of gold stripe).
