But seriously, there’s a few in my toolbox that ‘do’ the bottom end: DeBoom by Eventide and the Smooth Operator. Slap my ass and call me a professional. 😅 Most entertaining music tech show on KZbin.

Streaky said in a video once that you should never record or mix at 48khz. You should always do 44.1 or 96, because 48 “sounds bad”. That’s when I stopped listening to Streaky.

Demo'd the plugin and couldn't figure out how useful it would really be. I mean one could just listen with their ears and clean up the bottom end with an eq? Lol.

@@marksaxon Yep...if you know how to do the pultec trick and understand compression for low end...you don't need this. Useful if you're new to mixing though...or lazy.👍 😂

@@StudioLife101 I do love me some lazy plugins but this one is a solution in search of a problem. WA Production's Kickshaper is one of my favorite of the specialized low end "lazy" plugins.

It's a low frequency compressor. Bet all of your arses that it does this: Waves C4 -> disable all bands except the lowest -> tigh/loose: threshold -> crossover: obv -> release: obv -> big orange **knob** on the right: band gain. All of the above is a guess, but it's an educated guess out of my educated ass. I'd test it, but after Colourbox I can't be arsed.

Streakys plugins have always been these like mystery in a box plugins that essentially makes a preset of how he masters. I don’t like that they don’t explain what’s going on with the plugin, but I guess if you wanna quickly get a similar sound to streakys sound then they’re good. Otherwise meh

I reckon one of the advantages that plugins give us over analog gear is it's easy to visually represent what the heck is going on. To obfuscate it and then claim that it's just magic dust is properly lame as far as I can see. It's sort of lazy really - to withhold salient information from the user and go with 'ooh, it's a one-knob miracle' is just bollox frankly. So it's a low end pultec thing with some compression - how on earth would I use that if I cannot specifically dial in what i'm gong for? You know, if you're a novice then you're going to need MORE info, not less. Also you've got Rio Ferdinand's mouth.
