You have a very good point, as, unlike most of the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal bands that evolved from the late '60's that were based on White Man's Blues, Slade pretty much stuck with Rock. Their B-Sides were entirely amazing, as they sounded nothing like their hits. They inspired a lot more '80's bands musically than pretty much any other band. Shame they never made it here in America. They were a lot better than Led Zeppelin, as their songs were more upbeat....

If you missed Slade live boy you missed something very very special, ask the crowd at Reading in 1980, they blew all the other bands off the stage, by miles the best live band i ever saw and i have seen them all since 1969.

​@shereemcclelland2186 Jimmy is on bass yes.but is definitely a better lead guitarist than Hill. Jimmy played guitar on a lot of Slade records apparently .Hill is an absolute shambles of a player nowadays
