In a word Excellent. Anything Slade reminds me of my late brother who was a huge fan. This song particularly I recall as it wasn't one of the 'usual' hits. Dave's guitar sound is also great, that '"let's try and get 4 amplifiers worth of sound into 1 speaker!" Great stuff. Thanks for posting. Cheers.

Slade were a rare band, as were Black Sabbath, where you could actually hear all of the members playing their instruments. I think Jim said something about that in '72. He was right about Them being A Four Man Band...

the songs on the album are good, one better than the other, I don't think the drums come out well, they are too stuffy, as if it was recorded in a basement. More attention has been paid to the guitars in the final mix

You're right, as I think They were trying to put more emphasis on Dave's lead, as this being a Heavy Metal album, than the actual rhythmic backing, although Jim could be heard. Noddy's rhythm guitar & Don's drums were cast aside..
