Slaine was a masterpiece. I used to hide 2000ad under my bed away from my Mum, like it was porn. 😂 It was way too violent for me to read at the time but it completely influenced my taste in comics. Bisley seemed like a magician.

You have a great taste for comics, these are more like art books. Most of them unknown for me but thank you for these detailed reviews

I miss buying books with that beautiful sticker. Will definitely be paying the megastore a visit when possible.

Is the NY store and the UK chain related? I know I've been to the one in the states, and I'm pretty sure we hit up at least one in England years ago when last we visited... but I can remember combing every little comic shop we came across, back in the olden days. Fun times.

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature I believe they are related. I moved from my hometown to study in London back in 2017 and can definitely say there are loads of great comic book shops about.

Somewhere we have some books signed by Vasquez too, but I haven't come across them yet. I'm guessing they're at our parents' place, tucked away in some boxes. My favorite spots to hit up at Comic Con in days of yore were Slave Labor Graphics and Troma.

He was doing a very Mignola- esque thing before it was a thing. I can see his work being very decisive, especially when sandwiched in between some of the other 2000AD luminaries.

Isn't that how Pat Mills himself has always pronounced it? He'll be the first to tell you the same thing too!

The irish aka gaelic way is slawna...the English pronounced way is slaine even in Ireland, slaine Castle where alot of concerts are held...its anglicised...both are fine'ish lol my irish nationalist inner warrior says it must be slawna lol, buuut it's entirely written in English so their you go lol...I'd love it completely translated in to irish gaelic... Edit I'm only realising I randomly came across your video again and didn't realise you were replying to me I didn't look at the name just the post, I was just about to do a second post saying he was just having a laugh with you then realised I made the op post..talk about trippy...ah I'm irish that's my excuse lol
