Slammed Sierra 4.3 to 5 3 swap Part 1

So after a lot of other work it is time to start the engine swap on the slammed sierra. This will be over the course of several videos. I will show you how to swap a 4.3 to a 5.3 in silverado or sierra. This swap could probably be completed in 1 day but I like to clean and I also want to do a few upgrades to the engine while it is out. Its not a hard engine swap but it is time consuming. I hope you like the step by step on swapping v6 to v8. I hope it helps other complete the same engine swap. Today we mainly focus on getting the engine tore down for new parts and clean up.

Sac city corvette alignment tools help putting the plates back on leak free. You can just pull the seals. Used them on an engine swap 5yrs ago and its still clean. Good content..nice truck. I want to see that 6-8 swap..and swap the lifters..my only regret because they were low mileage..got one thst leaks down..ugh.

Great videos, I needed some confidence before my first engine swap and found it here. Bought a 2000 Silverado in fresh gloss black paint...well taken care of, I lowered it and did a bunch of cosmetics. But every time I was complimented for a good looking truck, it was followed by " Is it V8?".... to which I sadly said no a gave some bs excuse. And in my opinion, you are right, trucks aren't designed for racing..... its for fun.

Just a tip ..and you probably already do this ..before i take off harnesses and other parts or even as i do it I mark with colored tape or paint to match areas before bagging. And I take a bunch of pics with my phone. Helps if you have long periods between projects or a bad memory or you dont do this everyday. Thanks for the video :)

2003 is different than this. It requires electronic throttle body. Not the same swap

I'm not sure if your going to or not, but while you have the motor on the stand, I'd suggest doing all new gaskets and seals while your st this point, i know the rear main and the timing chain cover gaskets leak pretty often. And while your there I'd suggest new knock sensors and harness. Witch you probably already going to change out.

Hey man I've a swap on my 2000 gmc 4.3 to 5.3. From an 03 suburban using the harness and computer and I have the one plug from the computer that plugs into the harness on my truck in which I had to use the plug end from the 4.3 harness so that could plug them together. I know it needs to be repined. I can get power to the ignition switch and gauges, what did you do to get ur truck running I'm lost at this point. Could you give me some advice please, I need your help
