I passed on this bottle many times. It doesn't look that interesting. While attending an Irish tasting I was given a blind sample. I quite enjoyed it.

Not gonna compare this one to my latest Irish purchase. A drop of the Irish it’s called from blackadder but this could be really something. But Moa check out the Floki single malt matured in stout beer barrels. Floki comes from Iceland. Stunning whisky. Really blown away. Very young distillery but already a huge core range. Ever heard of them? Interesting review

there a new irish whiskey called silkie whiskey from the sliabhliag (pronounced sleave league) distillers in donegal ireland. distilled at 46% and good price point aswell

Here was my review: 126. Slane Triple Casked Irish (40%) (2022-03-20) Screw-off bottle cap. Sigh. But, since this is very inexpensive (Costco sale, $16.49/750ml), I suppose that’s one of the reasons. I have Jameson Black Barrel, so I’m also doing a head-to-head comparison. Nose: Bready, malty, honey, caramel, buttery, no burn (but at 40% I’d hardly expect it), less buttery than the jameson, and smells a bit brasher; the barley bread nose is stronger here. But not a bad nose at all. Taste: Sweet and buttery initially, then the spices do come in after 10 seconds or so, but subside after another 10-15 seconds in the mouth. Finish: Sort of a short finish, oak is what I first get, but some spices and sweet stick around. Overall: Quite unobjectionable. Ok, so it isn’t as complex and rich as the Jameson (and certainly not as much as the redbreast - but that’s a $50 12 year old, and it’s silly to compare), but at $16? What is there not to like? It’s a pretty nice Irish. I’m going to watch some reviews of it now, and see how much I missed. Oh, actually, if I swallow the Slane sooner, I get a lot more spice on the finish, unlike the Jameson.

I wasn't sure about this one. It grew on me over time but never completely won me over. I'd be willing to give it another try but there's a lot of choice at that price point.

@@swedishwhiskygirl I'm no expert but I thought the Jameson's Stout Edition and the Power's Gold Label both offered fantastic bang for your buck.
