Ghost notes are where it is at for me as a bassist. I've always called it "stuttering" because I didn't know what else to call it. Where the bass is ALWAYS doing something even if it is only a ghost note. Great lesson man!

Flea from RHCP has played it that way & I tune my Bass down a half step to match the original key

If you would want to make a video of you playing the whole song….how great that would be! Sounds real cool!! 😎

Definitely "Let The Praise Begin" by Fred Hammond. As a matter of fact, the slap bass on Fred's song is very similar to Stevie's "Higher Ground"! 😎

I dont think I've ever wanted to learn slap bass until now.

Hello Daric! Can you show how to play "The Jam" GCS?

"Let the praise begin" would be the song I think you're talking about

Similar to how Flea played it except he did it in E. Playing the low Eb on a five string does not have the clarity as the open E.

You'd have to tune the Bass Down a half step to Eb Standard to match the Original key

Do these slap bass techniques translate on a 5string bass? I feel like the spacing might be different on the strings. Everything I see for learning slap bass tends to be on a 4 string
@RockStarOscarStern634 Жыл бұрын
They do & that can be done w/ a Radiused Fretboard 5 stringer

Just a note: People learn by watching too!. There was way too much explanation and not enough actual playing the song.

I’ll add to that note…I’ve done both and get complaints about either way…Can’t please everyone, thanks for the input though
