I've seen about all the vids available from tech reviewers, and no one has detailed the Android/HTC OS and UI as well as you Noah. It's important because that's were the Android jewels are. I like also your point about how the extra options and customization may appeal to the tech geek but not the lay user. Honestly, with your speak off the cuff style I didn't expect you to unravel Android/HTC that well. I think u nailed the review and showcased the strengths of both phones! Awesome!

I've been running the heck out of my iphone 4 and I have had no issues pertaining to these bugs Noah has talked about. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but no issues with my iphone 4. I do have to admit that the HTC Droid based phones are becoming more and more tempting.

Keep in mind, the incredible now has 720p video recording, and the camera on the incredible is 8mp while the iphone 4 is 5mp. however, the iphone 4 DOES still have the front facing VGA camera.

@spededpat they only have the icons, there are not widgets on the iphone. the closest you can get is to placing the weather icon on the dock so u can select any time.

I think that Noah made good point it's not about which one is the better phone but rather which phone fits you best with the different features they provide. I have an iPhone 4 and I like it a lot android on the other hand is a very nice operating system with a lot of options. I'm glad that we have these options cause it just makes the phones a whole lot better for the consumer.

I have owned 5 cell phones before switching to the iPhone. I have never switched a battery life, I know tons of people who have and dont have iphones. NONE of them have ever replaced a battery. I owned the 3G, 3GS, and 4 and no problems yet. You can customize the iPhone and I will completely acknowledge that Android is a better OS than iOS4, but iOS4 is still an excellent OS. I know people with iPhone 4s who dont give a shit about the reception issue, it is very small and is overexaggerated.

I have used both and personally, the iphone 4 is better...but, once again it depends on the person using it. The droid GUI is horrible in comparison. I love the tethered 3G deal with the droid. You really have to try both to get to the bottom of it.

@kockgunner the Evo has more then one feature it has the front facing camera, the hdmi out, the big screen(like you said), 4g, hotspot for up to 8 devices, and fm radio but you gotta realize the point is to have a different form factor for everyone not to have a hole different OS on each phone release. Like the iphone when your contract(or a upgrade of your current device ) is up a new version will be out of Android with new features.

@pyro74boy I just said that I know alot of people who have never had a battery problem. I understand it can happen but very unlikely especially on the iPhone. Applecare is 70$ and if you dont want it, you get a 1 year protection plan anyway free of charge. Alot of IPHONE 4 USERS would agree with me because they actually have first hand experience with the issue. My friend has it and his issues with it are just with the OS. he doesnt care about the antenna issue.

Well in the Droid Incredible and EVO 4G dogfight, the EVO won it out in the end. Since EVO> Droid, and Droid > Iphone 4, then EVO > Iphone4 Don't get me wrong all these devices are amazing, and I would be very happy to own any of them.

I wish you could have focused on the music player features a little more. These are not just phones. I don't know anything about the Android, but from what you said it seems that it with isn't compatible with I-tunes, or it just doesn't have an I-tunes store app. I need something that is I-tunes friendly. All of my music (tens of thousands of songs) is on I-tunes on my computer at home. How will I transfer music from my computer the Andriod?

In the end its down to what your personal preference is. I like the iPhones simplicity. My iPhone does what want when I want with no issues. if your droid does what u want when u want thats great for u too. It all comes down to what u want or like. I for one love the screen and response of the iphone. It feels more smooth and slick to me. now u may disagree but thats just me. The iphone 4 i love sleek lines and simple daily use.

I love the Apple hate. I've owned a EVO and Hero and have a iPhone 4, I still think the hardware/software combo of the iPhone will always be the one to beat. Of all the dogfights I've seen, the iPhone has had no lag, and Android platforms do. I've found myself using less of the widgets and deep features of androids. @pyro74boy Really? Before I baught my Macbook Pro, I went to a BestBuy various times and asked them what are good computers. They either told me to go with a Mac or a Sony Vaio everytime. With the Vaio they managed to talk to me for about 5-10 minutes, but when it came to the Mac, I ended up having an hour conversation with each employee. Best Buy may not push any brands, but they clearly support Apple.

Saying this because my friend came up tomme all hype up with a mytouch 3g and let me use it and it worked great for about a minute, because when I went to use an app it crashed!

How can I trust this review when he can't even work the iPod controls properly? It didn't crash, there's nothing wring with the iPod controls-- it's not active (eg. "greyed out") because you have to play or interact with a song first before it becomes active, like Pandora or Slacker radio.

I just watched the keyboard part and I disagree with you. I currently have a HTC Hero and when I "forget" a 'U' with jumped then I don't get jumped as a suggestion at all. So you basically show a completely botched comparison there. You forget a letter on the iPhone4 but you don't forget the same letter when you show it on the incredible. Instead you just change the last letter and sure enough, that works fine. How about you show us the result on the iPhone4 with the last letter wrong too?

Hey i mean with the iPhone its cool with syncing with iTunes and stuff, many iTunes fans out there. But i would have to go with the droid, you can sync it to your computer too, and hey just get an iPod Nano or iTouch or whatever if you like ITunes. so yeah i'd go with droid.

iphone 4 is a much better phone than pretty much any android phone. Apple is careful about allowing things on their phones that aren't perfected yet and that don't operate smoothly. I think the android OS has great features that in time will possibly make it nicer than Apple's iOS but overall for now I think Apple is still ahead of the game hardware and software wise.

Hey, Noah how come you always leave out the iPhone replace feature when you talk about keyboard vs android keyboard? All you have to do is double tap a word and click replace and it gives you more choices. You can do it on any word. Another failed comparison by noah.

IDK why he left out the EVO in this fight. I know he said because it was big but to me when it come to electronics, aesthetics are the absolute last thing you look at and I won't even mention it unless the phones perform exactly the same in all other areas. Maybe then you focus on looks. Seem this review was aimed more at texters and facebook addicts rather than the tech people which I though phonedog catered to. Forget size include of the EVO. it aint that big anyway. Mine fits me well.

To be honest if you've ever used the iPhone 4 you'd know its performance and quality is unmatched by all videos i've seen of android phones. Froyo is the only software i've seen to beat the iPhone web browser and its not by much. Game companeis are developing for the iPhone even they reckognise the way forward. Rockstar, Blizzard, EA, Activision. To name a few.

@bupent2001 Well my PERSONAL experience has been leaning towards the Apple touch screens. I have messed around with my cousins droid incredible, and then some LG touch screens like the xenon. I have found that Apple/iPhone touch screens were slightly more responsive and accurate. For some reason it seems like phone companies haven't quite gotten to the perfect touch screen for me vs Apple touch screens. ONLY MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, it can very well differ with different people. Hope it helped.

well if the droid interface was designed by a designer and not a software engineer I would buy ..but from the outside it looks cheap... I use a handful of apps that would probably do the same function on either...to me its the experience of using the phone...and the iphones user experience seems more dialed in...If the Android gets dialed in like that then I will throw away my friggin iophone..

@Quagmire97 The call reception issue? is is huge issue I have talked with many iphone users about this and this is only a issue with the iphone not At&'s network thats why I think people should be very careful when they are so quick to blame At&t when it has been reported that the iphone is having call reception issues where other none iphones on At&t are not having these same types of issues. Its real safe to say that this is a issue with Apple and the iphone not with At&t.

@pyro74boy It is wierd you say that, because Apple will cover any physical damage for any of its devices. Apples customer service is IMO one of the most top notch out of any company. My 5 year old iPod Nano had a problem and I took it to them and they fixed it free of charge. You either made it up or she lost her Nano or she herself fucked up the device.
