Mmmmmm... I would go for something a LITTLE more temporary than this. Blonde hair will hold on to semi permanent color even longer than darker hair. It won't cause any damage at all (there's no developer/chemical reaction or anything) but it could stain the hair a bit even once the color fades.

Any semi permanent color will last depending on how often you wash and products you use. I wash once a week with a no-sulfate routine and it can last about 4-6 washes before fading.

It’s semi permanent and this was the least long lasting overtone i tried. Should be faded in a few washes.

@@kierasaurusfrost yeah! So it was not as BLACK as I anticipated. It was certainly very dark but has a lot of purple in it & wasn't a true black. If your hair is already black or very dark I would say go for it because it was very nourishing & made my hair very soft. I would recommend it for that reason!

Hannah ok cool! Thanks for answering! That’s actually really helpful. My hair is naturally a brown black that gets this weird red tone if I go out in the sun. Like it looks like I put bleach on it for five minutes and then chickened out and was left with a dark orangey red tone in it. Super weird and it drives me nuts. Who wants to walk around looking like they had a total bleach fail when you didn’t even do anything to your hair?! I’ll may just have to give this a try! Could be super helpful in the summer! No, I just used AF as my actual "color" and the Overtone as maintenance until my next all over touchup with AF!

@@THE_K_HOUSE Yep, every time. But I kept the green bottle of spray lysol bleach nearby and that was enough to get rid of the stains without even needing to scrub. I'd spray, let it sit, then run the shower for a few seconds to rinse it.

How long semi-permanent hair color lasts depends on how much you wash your hair, what you're washing it with, sun exposure, chlorine exposure etc. This was probably the fastest fading overtone I had tried but that was heavily affected by the fact that I had purple hair underneath and it was a purple-based black. Box dye, if it's semi-permanent, will act the same way. If you want longer lasting color then you should go with demi- or permanent color

It's a semi permanent so it's not meant to last. In fact, out of all the overtone products, this one lasted the least amount of time and I had clearly purple hair after 1-2 washes (probably also because I had purple underneath).

Yep! The way it fades out depends on a lot of factors like how often you wash, what you're washing your hair with, exposure to heat, exposure to sun and the color (some colors just hang on longer!)

Semipermanent hair color can last up to a month and a half-ish depending on what you're washing your hair with, how often you wash your hair, if you heat style your hair, and general hair porosity (hair type, if you've chemically treated it before). All in all, it's not permanent and can be washed out completely within a few weeks if necessary.

This overtone was probably the quickest to fade on me. But I think that has to do with the fact that I put it over purple, and the product already had very purple undertones. So after about two washes my hair was looking very purple again. If you’re coloring over brown or blonde hair, it may fade differently.

It depends on how you're using it and your hair length/thickness. If I'm using a tub just as a deep conditioner between full colors, then a tub can last me like 6-10 deep conditioner treatments. If I'm using it as my main color like I did in this video, I get like 1.5 uses

It doesn't *make* your hair a lighter color but it will fade out completely because it's semipermanent. So after a few washes, you could very clearly see the purple that was underneath. I also hope they do more of a blue black one soon!

Since it’s semi permanent it actually started fading back to purple after like 2 washes, so I think with color stripper it would cone right out
