Slaughterhouse Gulch (Pitkin Colorado)

This fun ride down Slaughterhouse Gulch near Pitkin, Colorado starts outside the ghost town of Tin Cup. You run though sandy roads, past pine trees, old mining cabins, and eventually come out in the beautiful Union Park area. From there, you can tie into the Cross Mountain Trail or Union Canyon Trail, or proceed on into Taylor Park.

It doesn't look like Christmas Tree Cabin still has the tree inside with trinkets and treasures hanging on it. Haven't been down that trail since the year the road between St Elmo and Hancock was washed out. We rode over from St Elmo, then back after looping through Slaughterhouse Gulch and Union Park. Good times!

I'm not sure on the status of the cabin, I think it did have all the stuff taken off. This video was from 2016-2017, so things have changed there since!
