Sharmila this is instructive game in Slav Defense in Geller Variation. This video will be appreciated by those that play Slav Defense. Black defended very well. That was my point. People that don't play it they wouldn't like much. True, there was no grand ending. In conclusion this is a model game how black should play Slav Defense against Geller gambit.

Thank you for the videos. Very good job. One question. Do you think GMs visualize in their minds all the variations you mention in the video? The variation which starts at 1:22 with a4 is pretty long...

It's true that other compilations are more exciting, but this is a series for slav defence and equally - if not more- instructive. Chess players today tend to defend better vs killa moves, so the pool may be drawing thin :) I'd like to see more of these in the future for different openings.

Good observation. 0-0 is a book move. 17.Bb2 Qc6 18.0-0 a5 and black is better. Black is crushing on the Queen side.

Although I only play Fischer-random as black now, I really like your analysis of the games, really nice! Very entertaining, for a chess freak that is... ;) Thank you for posting!

@MatoJelic At 3:00, why didn't black just play Qc7 in the first place? Even after the exchange of bishops, the queen could still move to a5

2:59 bishops not rlly pinned kuz it can only move to 1 square defending the rook

the video description says: slav defense. so why should it be QGA? but QGA can transpose easily to slav.

How do you know when there is a " best move"?

nice..when I play the widows computer it always stars with d4 and c4 . and I defend with the slave,, so many of the lines in this game variations I am familiar with. The only diffrence is that the computer never gives up ::)

Is this a part of his famous Wojo System?

I am surprised Wojtkiewicz did not play with g3 and Bg2. He usually used to start with Nf3 too.

At 9:33 I'd suggest simply Nxd4. If Bxd4 Rxd4 Rxd4 Bc5 winning.

GMs know all these variations by hart

It would win. Black loved his Queen too much.

Another fact why we love Mato: Most of his Videos are 360p!! 1080p Chess Videos are soooo useless...

@ willygradefes Black is still better after ...Qc1, but ...Qc3, Bd2 and ...Qc4 is obvious better for Black since Black starts an instant counterattack against the exposed White king. It does seem like what Black plays in the game totally lack aggression at many positions after he is up a piece.

Mato, I clicked like as a ritual but I actually, for the 1st time, didn't like your video that much. There were too many variations. Also there was no special moves. And thirdly there was no grand ending which usually sums up your video. Please post those kinda videos. We all like you because of that.
