This is why some frightened competitors call Ivanchuk "Chucky" .

This was like a Snake slowly tightening its grip on the prey not allowing him to move an inch, squeezing him little by little..until finally the prey loses hope and resigns..

I can't believe this is the same Ivanchuck who missed Mate in ONE against Anand.

+Blackdarkdarker bleach That's how Chucky rolls :) If he blunders, his opponents are lucky. If he doesn't, he's every world champion's nightmare :D

seems sometimes he's too busy seeking the brilliancy to notice the obvious.

I selected the text "Iavnchuck who missed Mate in ONE against Anand", right-click, "Search Google for...". And there it is, a video, by agadmator no less, posted right around when this original comment was posted.

“All the best players played in that tournament. Kasparov played, Karpov played, etc. ... and finally Ivanchuk also played in that tournament (smirks lightly)” I see what you did there, Antonio 😅

What I like about this channel, is he talks about chess like he's talking to another chess player. As opposed to teaching the novice about the game. While the viewer can learn a lot, it is aimed at people fluent in the language. It is a celebration of chess for the initiated. Bravo!
