Jim Crow of the North Stories uncovers the dark history of systemic racism, but you can make a difference in the present. Get resources, watch more videos on this topic, and find out if your home has a racist past: www.tpt.org/JCON

You took our books threw out applications in the trash you passed us up in promotions, red lined us in neighborhood, you charged us more economically and experiment on us without our knowledge. Reparation should be a given. Reparation for All black Americans regardless of ancestors. We need reparation now for this generation.

1) how many are owed reparations 2) for what years 3) how much is owed total for each year 4) average yearly income for a black Minnesotan for each year 5) average yearly income for some in West Africa for each year 6) figure out the difference of income between Minnesota and west Africa for each year, multiply differences by number of people who are to receive reparations 7) add up the total owed for all years 8) subtract the total of wage difference from the total amount owed 9) divide by number of people to receive reparations 10) divide again by number of years reparations are being paid for 11) divide again by 12 That’s what their monthly stipend (or debt to be paid) will be until the total number of years has been paid to them (or paid back by them) Had west Africans never been brought to America there would be no reparations to pay. They are financially better off than their west African counterparts because of the slave trade. People keep forgetting that part.

This entire subject is highly insulting to the descendants of soldiers who fought in that war; you do realize that you are not only telling us that their sacrifices were not enough, but that their lives were worthless too? You already got your 'reparations'--in the form of hundreds of thousands of Americans' deaths. They. Died. So. EVERYONE. Can. Be. Free.

The Civil War was about money… not slavery. If you want to end slavery, start going after they that call themselves “Jews.”

So…people who were never subject to slavery and very few were old enough to be subject to Jim Crow-esque laws should get money coming from people who didn’t enslave and also were mostly not old enough to benefit from Jim Crow-esque laws. You want people to atone for injustice, by the installation of a new injustice. I’m sure nothing will go wrong with that and there will definitely not be new divisions based on what this video advocates.

Since Minneapolis-St. Paul in 1860 was still a frontier community of only 16,000 souls, the amount of slave-owner investment had to be very small. But it does make a great political talking point.

What if it was the other way around🤔🤔🤔

It's has been the other way around for every race in history... No one who's ancestors were enslaved received reparations. They moved forward and worked hard to overcome their oppressions by the people who captured them.

What about all the Native Americans they killed and moved out to steal their land. There were Native American slaves too. What about the Chinese and Irish slaves. What about what they did to the Japanese during WWII.

The Japanese received reparations. They weren't enslaved for 200 years. The Irish weren't slaves. Just say you don't like black people.

People usually make videos about issues like those one at a time :) It's a lot easier to learn that way. Luckily, there are already a lot of great videos on KZbin about those things!

Stop it man. Everyone can play the victim here. Be an adult and realize that happened *in that time*, not ours. The Indians were no innocents, as you mistakenly believe them to be: see the Iroquois ethnic-cleansing of the "Cat People" (the Eries)--just outside of today's Cleveland in the 1600's--as recorded by a French Jesuit monk. Yes, they killed all of them. The Utes and Navajos would probably be still killing each other to this day if there was no such thing as a U.S. government. Most modern Indians (indigenous) would rather have the modern conveniences than have to live the lives that their ancestors did--where every day was a struggle to get the calories needed to just survive. And. What the U.S. government did not (and does not) remotely compare to what the Imperial Japanese Army did. As for the Irish, they blended in rather well; it was either be poor in America and get fed, or be poor in Ireland--and starve. Cripe. Get a history book before you spout off on whataboutism; if its such an anathema to you...LEAVE!

Slave money built Minnesota? A state that never has had slavery? Who is the you that owes money? Who is those who owned you, or sold you? My ancestors in America were dirt poor farmers with little education. So I fail to see what I owe.
