Grave guard are definitely an auto include! I suggest trying zombies rather than skeletons and swapping out the dragon for some blood knights!

Lovely game and fun batrep to see, me myself played a game yesterday against Seraphon, i had Blades of Khorne. I got totally board wiped. Didnt kill a single unit, not even a single SKINK unit. I rolled so badly that it was an onesided slaugther... Well cant spell slaughter without laughter. And also a new year incoming so hope for better rolls. I had 3 bloodthirsters, and made 6 dmg in total... so you can guess how bad the rolls were. Kind regards and happy new year and good fortune for ye all whom reads this. 😇🥳🐢🐊🍻🍻🥂🍾🌃

Thanks for more AoS uploads, enjoyable as always. Those poor Chaos Knights. I believe you forgot to attack with their horses every time, so there would've probably been a few more dead Graveguard. Also didn't they get a new rule that lets them change one of their charge dice to a 4?

Great game guys, loving the AOS content. While I understand the comments about the double turn, I think it's incredibly important in game because it prevents a quicker army from being able to take an army out of the game. Being able to pre measure ranges means you can leave an opponent unable to do anything, or only fight battles on one players terms.

im an aos veteran and all I have to say is that buffed grave guard unit attacking twice would've deleted most units out there. it just happens to be a unit with a 2+ save.

48:10 Totally agree about the double turn. My friends and I have a house rule where we don't roll for priority on turn 1-2 as the player that went first on turn 1 often can't do very much. By keeping the same turn order at least until BR3 both players get a decent crack at doing their stuff. We do priorty rolls for the rest of the turns (3,4 and 5) but I'm still not a big fan of it. The way combat works in AofS mitigates it to some extent but lists with strong shooting can get really out of hand (imagine 40k but one player gets to have two turns in a row-Horrible). Luckily none of my friends take crazy shooting lists. If anything I'd like to see GW go in the oposite direction and make games with a squad by sqaud activation system like you have in Bolt Action. One of the things that put me off 40k was the number of games that are over by the end of player 1's first shooting phase. Player 2 is not wiped out but his losses are so great that he's basically done-All before he could even move a single piece.

Blood knights are amazing! strongly suggest getting them :D Using them to charge then next turn move away and charge again keeps their ability when doing so active, they are quite sturdy too! Love the content :)

My two AOS armies are Soulblights and Ogre Mawtribes. Love bringing vampire lord on zombie dragon or Mannfred as my general. 3 blood knights and 60 grave guards (3 x 20 units) is a lot of fun to play. Loving the Sigmar content! You should run Kastelai dynasty, Spider. You will love it. the best one IMO.

I think the general consensus is that at least one big unit of grave guard is the GOAT in Soulblight lists, but it's certainly not the only option. They are real fragile, so in some match ups they just get blown to bits before they get to do anything.

Another minor point, a vampire can fight in combat at the same time as a summonable unit, so on your T1 , your vampire lord on zombie dragon could have fought and then your graveguard could have activated immediately before beard fought.

Unless they've changed it since I last played, you get to roll to bring back units in every battleshock phase, not just your own And you also get to move and heal with the swarm at the end of every hero phase, unless that has also changed

Really enjoying the AoS. While 40k is great, fantasy has always been a bit more my thing aesthetically. Especially the undead stuff. Looking forward to Nighthaunt after the shorts showing Lady O. and the Chariot. Fletcher did such a great job with 'em, wanna see the rest. I play SBGL as well and my advice is to never take the artifact on the necromancer, you should never need the 18” aura when you have 2 vampires, a necromancer and 4 gravesites on the table, the whole table should usually be largely covered, this frees up other artifacts for you to use.

Remember: if a vampire unit kills a unit it has The Hunger ability where it can heal D3 wounds. So your lord on zombie dragon would have healed after killing the prince.

The Warlord CP can only be “activated” in your own hero phase, so if it’s your turn, not in the other players turn. A minor detail, but wanted to let you know.

That is how priority works in the core rules (and I personally find it way more interesting to play that way). Sadly the 'Matched Play' rules override it and whoever finished deploying first just gets to choose automatically for the first battle round..

Great to see you guys do more AoS! Quick note as I just started watching. The Chaos Warriors were deployed waaay too much forward. In Head On Collision you deploy 9” or more away from enemy territory, so in that case from the middle. The Chaos Warriors were basically on the middle objective when deploying, which isn’t possible. On the double turns, I've seen some people get ruined in the first couple of battlerounds be able to get back into the game because of it. Granted, it can also cause people to get absolutely demolished, so it is a double edged sword. As the editions have gone on GW has gotten better at actually giving some benefits to going second, though I think it's fair to say it's still not perfect. Still it does potentially punish people from over extending, and can give people on the backfoot a fighting chance, so overall I like it, though I wish GW would do more to make going second a more viable option.

You haven’t lived until you’ve run Blood knights as battleline in Kastelai Dynasty. Put a Vengorian Lord as your general to soak up damage cause it never dies. Skeletons and/or zombies as your screen. Fell Bats and/or wolves to take objectives, and let the Vampire Lord Zombie Dragon and 20 Blood knights wipe the board. So satisfying.
