I have to congratulate NL for only unraveling in the last five floors, and actually thinking sensibly almost the entire run. I'm not sure I've ever seen him think about things for more than two seconds a turn before now. I hope this bodes well for future videos. Perhaps he's started a new exercise routine, or diet, or perhaps his life is just going better in general? All I can say is I hope he continues to do whatever he's doing now and perhaps one day he'll have a video in which he does not make any egregious misplays that make his regular viewers spit coffee at their computer screens.

This was probably his best run in a while... He misplayed Act III in my opinion, especially with his card choices. With velvet choker and Time Lord as the boss, I would have added some more powers and defence in act III. His deck did pretty good damage, but he had not really good blocking options. Things that I would have done: After first fight: Maybe add clothesline+ for weak. Shop: There was no need to add more offensive cards, the deck was good at getting things killed. After second fight: Definately add Ghostly Armour+ After third fight: could have done Sentinel, but without an exhaust option the card sucks. Most likely add Metallicize. After Elite Fight: Definately add Evovle+ with all the wild strikes After next Fight: Maybe add True Grit to exhaust some wounds or Headbutt to make sure to draw block or Perfected Strike (or both), again maybe add another Ghostly Armor. After second elite: Most likely add Power Through+, especially if evolve+ was taken earlier. Do not add Infernal blade, as it needs two cards to be played to benefit you. Last Fight: nothing necessary.

Too energy dependent and too slow, and he didn't have enough block to compensate. He had enough damage with the perfecteds.

yeah, no need for demon form in a perfected strike deck usually. Just make sure to bring some more blocks.

I think Demon Form would've helped on the final boss but would've been worse in the other fights. If he had better blocks like impervious or power through and psuedo blocks (like intimidate, disarm, etc.) I think it could've worked out better Oh and rage would've probably have been really good too

In Slay the Spire, "If it ain't broke don't fix it" will *always * get you killed unless you're already on the 3rd floor. "If it ain't broke, it will be soon because the enemies on the next floor will require something more potent" is a better mantra. Skipping out on that Ghostly Armor was a huge mistake. Edit: Those. Those Ghostly Armors. You had several chances and you skipped them all. It's easily one of the best blocks for the deck he ran this game. All that being said, the progress from even just 20 episodes ago is honestly pretty insane. I put a lot of it down to realizing that his standard archetypes aren't always working, and being willing to take cards and relics that he normally wouldn't. Final Edit: Yeah, those 2 Ghostlies would've probably gotten the win, between saving HP before the final boss and on the boss.

He started great, but kinda dropped off as time went on. I mostly just get annoyed at all the tiny mistakes he makes, like playing a normal strike instead of a pommel strike because for some reason he thinks that since he played battle trance that somehow makes pommel worse than a basic strike.

Finally, a run where you don't rush too much and thus you end up playing waay better, with a couple of different card choices near the end, you could have won this run. Also, I feel like Demon Form is actually really strong, my last few asc wins (lvls 9-12) had that power in it, im not sure if it works in a Perfected Strike archetype but try going for it on a different deck type.

30:31 Little decisions like this are a large part of why you're losing. Infernal blade is great in most circumstances, but here, it's awful with velvet choker and even worse against the Time Eater. You're starting to recognize the gameplay mistakes from playing way too fast and just taking unnecessary damage, but even then, you need to start slowing down if you ever want to fix them.
