Slayer has a Command Grab... and I'm Excited

I know he always had one but Strive is my first GG game so cut me some slack! I'm already prepping for Slayers arrival with something i think yall are gonna love, stay tuned!

he has, Blood Sucking Universe has always been in his kit. For Slayer it gave a bit of health back and staggered, and gives his specials and supers guaranteed counter hit status.

Back in Xx it was pretty good since it gave him a combo and could be used as a reversal with backdash canceling. In Xrd it was given a very interesting property that the next hit he landed would be guaranteed counter hit. Slayer's gamplan revolves around explosive counter hits and blood sucking universe gives him a way to force that even against very defensive opponents.

i'm excited for slayer but worried about how they'll butcher him at the same time. he got considerably weaker from +r to xrd, now xrd to strive...daisuke have mercy.

I'm hoping however they decide to modify his kit for Strive it still turns out fun. It'd be sad if he is weak, but generally thats how it goes for characters I like to play lol

Seems like they gave him foward dandy step back, slayer was always a pretty straightfoward character so he probably won't get butchered as hard if at all other than some things like bdc being removed

It would be more correct to say that Nago uses Slayer's move, since Bloodsucking Universe was originally part of Slayer's moveset

@@jokhard8137 Yes, and his win animation when he snaps his fingers also looks exactly like Slayer's round win animation. Apparently, Nago was supposed to be his replacement, but they are just really different (also, Slayer is simply too awesome to be replaced)
