This is one of the best performances of Dave. Maybe because the druns are high up in the mix. There's everything, precision, improvisation, the way the tempo changes ever so slightly as the song progresses. One more thing which is often overlooked is how effectively he grew to use cymbals, with there being changes in the intensity of the hits keeping in view the phrasing of the song . A good example of his work with cymbals is world painted blood. I agree that there are many drumners of his era who are more technical, but, Dave, kept to his style which, has been all about conveying feelings and emotions throughing drumming while allowing the song to breathe. He fit Slayer perfectly and his drumming with grip Inc and the record with testament, while not featuring many intricate patterns is far ahead in displaying the perfect match of aggression and the untrained style that thrash requires.

I’ve seen Slayer live with both Dave Lombardo and Paul Bostaph, and although Bostaph is a technical drummer, there’s absolutely no match between them, Lombardo is a monstrous drummer and he makes the band sound on a total different level, way more powerful. His power, feeling, groove, intensity and particular technique in the way he puts his fills and rolls is unique! He is like the John Bonham of thrash metal. Slayer with Bostaph was a f**king great show, but Slayer with Lombardo is the ultimate show on earth! So sorry they are retired by now. The world will miss 🤘

I wish most of the audience in here are true thrash metal fans and knows Slayer's History. In India if any ( not just metal ) well known band or artist from hollywood comes and perform a gig then its very huge event, many people just wanna witness the show ( even famous celebs who have no idea about the band and music they play ) and pretend like they are a true fan since a long time. Hence, i think most of the audience in here are not real slayer's fans i guess. India is a huge highly populated country but still they don't seem very good at music. They are heavily rely on bollywood movie's songs. I don't know any metal band or any other bands that play something heavy, not even a hard rock rock Indian band that i"m aware of. I don't think they doesn't exist. If anyone of you know please let me know. You guys gotta quit watching bollywood and start playing musical instruments and form a band. Its Slayer guys. They are fucking legends. Why are the audience so calm in here. ?? The real fans would go fuckin' nuts. Damn that bad ass riffs, archaic solos, frantic drums, brutal vocal and storytelling nature of song's lyrics, it blows everyone mind if they understand and actually love thrash metal. I don't mean to offend you guys but i said what i actually felt. I love India , Indian people, its culture, language and almost everything. But i feel bad about their backwardness in music..

Indian languages aren't chorus enough to sing metal it. English is suitable for it, and writing songs in english in non english place is fooking fake. hence all the so called indian metal scene of poor. Indian languages favor certain music and that is pleasant to ear. also theres an anomaly to above reasoning, Rockstar album of a r rahman. Lastly i would say read more before writing trash
