Great video. Just as a random topic idea for the show I'd love an indepth discussion on how you guys go about actually preparing models for golden demon. Like how do you cut them, sand them, remove mould lines and still keep it perfect. Also like how do you sub assemblies when half the time the fits are 100% snug. Do you paint them, come back in with green stuff then repaint that area? It's a bit random but I've really never seen content about the building side of the hobby at the height of display models.

Neil's Lazarus is ridiculous. It's probably the best Astartes ever painted. Every single part of it is painted. Even down to the areas that people skip over. The framing of it is absolutely fuckin' insane. He perfectly phased the brightness of each colour to make you focus on the face in the most subtle way. The more you look at it, the more you will see what I'm talking about. Perfection.

As an outside looking in, Golden Demon does seem a tad odd. I mean, a group of men scouring a model looking for imperfections does seem a very strange way to judge art.

Unless it was intended as a joke, at the beginning of the ceremony the guy mentioned a load of the award statues exploded on the fight over or something? Surprised that wasn’t talked about too?

The KZbinr/painter Ninjon's entry into the competition was damaged. They never contacted him and sort of put the broken off model half on/ half off the base of the diorama as if it had too much beer. They then photographed and judged it in that state (as if that was the intent all along).If it wasn't so heartbreaking; it would be comical.

Looking at his entry it would have not mattered, it's fairly obvious he made a huge mistake with his lighting right off the bat, the vampire being all red and blue, while nothing else is.

@@jeancouscous incorrect, there are a few other red features, the vampire is in red armor, not red light, and the entire diorama is backlit with blue. It's a copy of the SGL battletome artwork.

I missed the live show, so I have a question. The fact that open cannot win the slayer sword. Is that not a bit like Orthodox painters vs impressionists mentality back in the day? To win the top award, it must be clean etc and look real and clean lines vs the other? And if that is the case, go to other comps then, is that being elitist of one style over all others?

Isn't it more that open category has often custom models, so they cannot be really used for marketing purposes? Bonus points for GWish style too, I guess.

One of the reasons Open cannot win the sword is because staff are able to enter. The Open Competition is technically not a Golden Demon category, it's a separate competition that runs along side Golden Demon.

Benjamin Kantors move was other dimensionally crazy and I cant understand why this one Lazarus got a Slayersword .....And what they did to Ninjons work is absolute garbage.

You will be "happy" to learn that the Kantor diorama work was damaged as well, oh so reasonable workers from GW broke off 1/3rd of the Sanguinis wing - source last Trovarion stream from the man himself

Dear content creator world, stop using ear-buds as mics! they're great speakers for your ears; terrible mics for clearly picking up your voice. I know not everyone can afford or wants to go the route of a real mic, but it makes a WORLD of difference. But, enjoy the content as always :)
