I have actually tried the fire thing myself. So here how it goes. I have hip-length heavy hair so I have a lot of split ends. The fire actually burns all the dead dry ends of your hair. Your dead dry hair burn after than the healthy nourished hair. Keratin(hair protein) is almost negligible in the dead ends. So before the fire burns your healthy hair the barber/hairdresser puts it off. I have been doing it for almost one year every 4 months(but i couldn't get it done this year because of lockdown). I have seen a visible change in my hair. There are far fewer split ends now and my hair is more bouncy and voluminous. Note: This is my personal experience and we all have different hair types. All this info was given to me by my hair stylist/expert who has been in the profession for almost a decade. Always get this done by and expert. Again I'm not a dermatologist or an expert, consult your own expert before doing anything.
