Statesman is my second favourite Old Forester after 1910 and ahead of 1870, 1897, 1920 and U.K. Bartender's barrel pick.

The best banana bread I had was just 2 weeks ago at the work release. The food manager made dark chocolate chip, blueberry banana bread. Sweet mother of God, it was amazing.

I truly enjoy the interaction you 2 have when you're tasting. Most of those whiskeys I probably will never try. A couple of them because of your repeated reactions (bookers, statesman). And the others because of availability out here in the sticks. I hope to have this type of relationship with my son when he's older. You seem to have done a mighty fine job of raising Trenton, Kyle!

I had a bottle of the Statesman and I agree that it’s got a great nose and a not so great palate. I gave it to a friend. I do actually like most Booker’s and Charlie’s is a decent pour for me. I’ve never had the other bottles. Cheers

May I suggest taking some of these lesser known bottles that you acquire and comparing them to a comparable whisky so that we have a benchmark of a flavor profile to assist in purchasing these craft/unknown distillers bottles

OF Stateman is a good bourbon for my pallette. especially at $55. It's not top of my list but a good pour. The others that you tried today are more than I want to spend on a bottle. I've tried two American Single malts. Yellowstone and Balcones, Yellowstone to put it Trent's words was meh. Balcones only slightly better. Great video! Love your channel. TonyB

After having 1870, 1897, 1910 an 1920 I gave up on trying statesman. They are all different but close enough I couldn't imagine where statesmen could split the profile any more than it already was.

I do not like the OF Statesman. For me, the banana notes are way over the top. I do generally like Booker's, although I don't think I have tried Charlie's Batch. Would definitely like to try the Del Bac offerings some day.

About a year ago i was told the statesman was better than some of the Whiskey Row offerings. I tried a pour at a whiskey bar and was NOT impressed. Glad i never got a bottle. It was less tan “mid”
