I'm curious about the fuel usage part of the scoring. Without miles driven what value does it have? I mean you have the winning truck which has almost twice the HP of most of the other trucks and it used a half to a quarter of the fuel that most of the other trucks. Maybe it was trailered to and from each event and the others were driven? Something doesn't add up...

It is connected to the wheels I believe. Which makes the speed of your pull not effect when the weight goes over the blade.
@fordrac1ng818 жыл бұрын
Ben Jaenke Well it raises the back of the rail the weight lays on so it slides forward. Faster you go, the more momentum the weight will have and faster it will move. Overall the effect isn't huge one way or another

+OhFishyFish The weight on the sled moves closer to the bed of the truck which puts more weight on the tongue of the hitch very rapidly....
@benjaenke95398 жыл бұрын
Yes, the sled has a blade on the front and wheels on the back. As the weight moves forward (because the wheels are connected to the weight) it puts more pressure on the blade which slows the vehicle.

Anyone know how much money has to be put into a truck to make it similar to Miller's?
@brandoncaldwell959 жыл бұрын
The truck alone is 40k the new parts, tunes and turbos will reach 10k. To stroke a motor and build stronger heads with larger fuel ports and fuel delivery system your talking 20-30k. So in total, truck parts, time, labor, your reaching 100k. But he has his own shop and that, he can do it for 20-50k To sum it up, you only buys a vehicle to upgrade with parts that cost more them the vehicle for the love of the sport.

I know man and i honestly hate how hes been there 2 years with nothing to compete. Youd think oh first year ok if hes back he will be with the pack but nope this idiot is the type of guy that gives us all a bad rep with that pointless lift and the pitch black smoke. Makes big numbers for a truck but doesnt perform. Hes a joke really. And hes a Canadian like myself which makes me even more pissed about it because it gives the rest of us a bad image like if we dont know how to tune and run our trucks. He could tune it properly and run better but either he doesnt want to or doesnt know how. Understandably i think this is done at 6000ft from sea level which where i live were about i think between 300 and 500 of sea level but thats no excuse for his shit poor performance.

I honestly hope he doesn't go back next year. Hes taken a spot of another guy that could have actually run a good truck 2 years in a row. Last year i was like whatever you know the guy has bad luck but this year. Hes a fool. His truck just aint tuned right not even close. Its lift is pointless and it makes good numbers but its a joke to what its against. Like seriously if he aint going to bring something done right or not doesnt matter. Run the damn thing. He tried il give him that but man his build is shit. I can understand if his budget is low but first of all hes in the oil industry and even on a rig you make good money but i guarantee you hes in the offices so he makes more than them hell he makes really good money in that case. So if he cant afford to run a good build he shouldnt bother driving up there and taking up the spot of someone that does. And 14 gallons in a week of rather poor work on his truck thats roughly 56litres of diesel fuel and its like a 1.10$ or thereabout a litre where i live so in a week if he burns that amount normally hes spending a shit ton of money on gas. He could save money and make more power if he tunes it right.

To be honest i feel like Chomos or whatever. The fellow Canadian is unfortunately the type of owner of a diesel truck that all those who hate diesel trucks imagine the rest as being. Badly tuned meaning its wasteful and inefficient. I know youll get black smoke but his is really bad i mean even the 90's cummins were burning cleaner than him. Hes also lifted to excessive heights and i dont see why to be honest. Yea a lot lift their trucks for aesthetic purposes and yea it looks decent but overall the way i see him is he wants to brag about the power it makes. Blow pitch black smoke all over the place and ride high as the moon to be intimidating or something but his build is unreliable or hes just afraid to actually run it. He may work in the oil industry or whatever but i guarantee you hes in the office all day because he aint on the rigs for damn sure and im sure if he brings that truck over there he doesnt pull much if anything with it. If he comes back next year he better run the damn thing or else he better stay home because his truck for 2 years now has pretty much been a joke in the competition and i know theres other trucks out there at least over here that could have given some of these guys a really good run. I dont know if they are Miller fast or strong because his build is smart and strong. But a competition is not a show of sitting around doing nothing.
@patrickpelletier63159 жыл бұрын
***** most likely. Banks makes quite a good package for them. I dont know if he works on Cummins or Powerstrokes though but ive seen some of his work and although it aint cheap its a beautiful piece. Personally i like the Powerstrokes but ive never driven a cummins and im sure something like Miller's is something i would because ive always liked low end grunt. Everyone likes to brag about top end power and torque but thats easy to make power when your engine is screaming. I like to know if im pulling something heavy il be way ahead of the other guy with a uselessly powerful truck.
@ice445679 жыл бұрын
Patrick Pelletier Completely agree. His truck is a big joke. It's broken down twice in a row. Shit, last year it didn't even complete the dyno before the bottom end blew up. He needs to swallow his pride and quit already.
@patrickpelletier63159 жыл бұрын
ice44567 i agree. But if he shows up again he better have something good. He has absolutely no valid excuse for his shit poor performance both in economy and tests aswell as output. And really he better not show up next year even if he does have just a decent build. He would need something extraordinary to compensate for his ugly showings both years. Hell i dont see why Motortrend even allow him to participate. Im sure there more people showing up to be a part of it but this lazy slob is taking up a lot of room. Its like if someone came to hot rod drag week and had a shit poor build but there were only so many eligible cars to participate and theyd constantly take up space they dont deserve. I respect his ambition if he really has any though because everyone wants a shot at the title. But people such as myself know that we aint got anything to even have a chance against some of these guys. For several reasons whatever they might be. But he doesnt get it.

@MrDcornett669 жыл бұрын
Chris Sorreda Have you looked at the Ram EcoDiesel? I mean yes there are the big displacement and turbo engines, but in America these are used for towing/moving equipment. Europe uses diesel more for the fuel economy side of things. The US is starting to move more towards that though. It should be mentioned that the sound of a straight piped "tractor engine" does this funny thing that makes my pants get really tight. Just my opinion though.
@TwoAMBlacktop9 жыл бұрын
He's right though, the Eco-Diesel is a VM Motori (Fiat) engine just like the Colorado Duramax. It is a European diesel. Most, if not all, fuel sipper diesels in the US are European.
