This games mechanics and graphics were top notch for it's time. Still looks good till this day.

Yea the physics of the snow mobile felt really good. Very realistic. They did an awesome job on the animations. One thing that really helped them, was that all the levels were "whiteout blizzard" visibility, so they only needed to render the track directly in front of the player. This is how the framerate was also really good for a ps1 game

The soundtrack is perfect. Felt like such a badass while sledding and doing tricks while the soundtracks played. God i love this game. So much memories.

I was introduced to this game from Electric Gaming Monthly on a game disc featuring all these demo games including Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy! Mecamd my brother played the SHIT out of this demo! For years ive been tryin to find this song!! It took me so long because i thought the game demo i heard it from was Motocross X! I found out what the song was, because it came on Music Choice Rock hits on my TV.

It's interesting to think that for some of the questionable quality of EA games these days there was a time when they used to make awesome games. To this day two examples are Sled Storm (as you said, still the best sled game out there), and SSX 3 which remains the best snowboarding game even after all these years.

The game was genius. Because there was always that rabbit you could hit for HUGE points, it always left you wanting to be able to hit the fox or the bear to see what kind of points they would give. Kinda genius design in a way, even if they never intended to let you hit the fox or the bear.

Something not many people point out is how impressive the physics are. Sleds have noticeable mass and they bounce realistically on snow. Moments like 5:15 show how landing properly and maintaing balance actually play a big role in navigating the circuit efficiently or you risk a rollover. Great game from a great era!

Games were so much more diverse and interesting up until about the last 10 years where now every release is some sort of remaster, RPG, or battle royale. PS1/2 and Gamecube had amazing variety.

I'm a sucker for the PS2 era, but I haven't given up on modern gaming yet (I say this as I don't even own a PS4 or PS5). There's still plenty of variety out there today--you just gotta dig a little to discover it or find out through word-of-mouth nowadays. They're not putting it in our face through TV commercials and magazines the way they used to.

Words can't describe. I played this and resident evil 2 so damn much when I was kid. If ever a game was in need of a remake it's sled storm. I would chop heads just to have a new one made on the frostbite engine

I remember I was at my cousin's house back in 2005 and he was playing this Game on the PS2 it was on a Jampack Demo Disc (if anybody remembers that) he was playing as the guy in the Red Suit the guy falls off his Snow Mobile and he says "WEINER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Everytime he says it right after he falls off his Snow Mobile we would be laughing so hard after that we kept saying it out loud everytime we would say it out loud we would get in trouble for it man those were good times good times

This really brings me back. My two brothers and I would play this for hours. My younger brother & I would always try & hit the jump perfectly to launch ourselves up on the cliff where the howling wolf was. We knew the exact area where the wolf/jump was on the little track map! I watched the entire video hoping I’d see that damn wolf!
