Thank you so much for taking the time to post the clutch videos. Many of these cat clutches are 20 plus years old now and are due for a refresh. Hoping to do the same to mine here soon. No sticking as of now, but I have never done it and like many, I have no history on the sled since it’s probably had 4+ owners.

Happy to do them! I will obvously be going over the roller replacement and the re-assembly soon. Just have to edit the video! Good to go through these if you have time. especially if you don't have any history on the sled. Easiest way to keep these old sleds running great is by maintaining the clutches. My Brother and I are racing 18+ year old machines against the latest and greatest machines and winning. Not with any super secret tricks. Simply by restoring, the clutches and the machines in general, back to basic condition and maintaining that condition. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Let me know if you are looking for info on anything in particular.

@@longtinmotorsports will be great to see how the white rollers are replaced on a cat secondary, have not seen any video’s of this yet. Mine are certainly worn and probably could use a replacement.

how did you anchor that clutch? on the vise??
@longtinmotorsports Жыл бұрын
It's held onto a cluch holder block that is held by the vice. We make and sell these if you're interested.

Damn dude, you're good. You are absolutely right about clutching being 90% of snowmobile performance. People don't realize it as they get get dirty and wear at a slow pace, then they think you 'modded'their sled when you give it back to them. "what did you do to it! " lol Anyway, excellent video and my question is, did you make your fixed sheave fixture/holder? If so, sow? Can I get a couple closer pictures of it? Thank you.

Well maintained machines are the leaders! From the track to the trail. The one I'm using in this particular video is one I purchased for 33mm taper clutches. I have since made my own for the 30mm taper 9-towers and sold a couple. The ones I've made don't have a matching machined taper. But they have worked well for me. If you jump over to Facebook or Instagram and find me @longtinmotorsports I can send you some pictures over there. Thanks for watching and for your feedback!
