Ran into this song in the middle of a rough divorce with my ex. We were barely speaking 'cause she needed space. I used to just watch her, doing her thing while I had 'The Offering' on loop. That line "my arms belong around you" got me choked up every time. In the end, the divorce still happened. That chord progression is like nothing I heard before. The way it resolves at the "once again" mark is so unexpected. Somehow triggers an emotion that's both "good" and "bad", like hope and sadness at the same time. Melancholy is the closest I can associate it with. Truly amazing.
