Man why does KZbin keep deleting my link? But search that video up. The reason why the vr30 in the Nissan z sounds so bad stock is because it has a very restrictive catback 1.75inch, muffler, resonators, and it has 4 catalytic converters. All that removes it’s sound.

You got it right the first time you mentioned the lights but not the second fun fact. Its actually the Lamborghini that uses the Nissan 300ZX headlights. They were already D.O.T. approved but Lamborghini didn't have an approved DOT headlamp design because they were rushing to get the car to market and the lights would have taken long/er time to get DOT approved so they paid Nissan for the design. Fun fact... you can actually see where it says Nissan on the Lambo headlights but they have a little plate that covers the name part. That's all just wanted to point out that they are Nissan headlamps in the Lambo not the opposite. Don't get it twisted 😅

Having owned 5 Z32's over the past 28 years. All were a 2+2 TT. And only one was manual transmission. I love these cars to the bone. Only thing I tended to do was the hicas delete for the rear steering. Braided brake lines. Vented brake discs. And aftermarket coilovers. The rest was never an issue. Until a cambelt needed a change, and a water pump. The manual one ended up being a track car after few years on the road. And with all the traffic, opted to keep using auto on the road, and manual for track days. One year I had an idea to put a rebuilt RB engine from a Lexus in. And used the VG in a Hilux pickup. That thing was a nightmare to fit in the Toyota. Though so much fun when other hilux drivers assumed I had changed the exhaust, and only ran a 190bhp. Till they saw the sand blast from that rear wheel drive hilux. As was a struggle to make the 4wd system work with the auto box back then. I wish people would stop perpetuating this bollocks about the VG30DETT being hard to work on. No, they're not. You might have to take a part or two off to allow you to get to the bit you're actually trying to get to, but that doesn't mean it's hard. No harder to work on than a skyline or similar late 80's or early 90's nissan. People forget some of these cars are 34 years old now, so things wear out. The only other reason some of these end up being unreliable is because loads of people actually believe this shit about them being difficult and then choose not to do routine maintenance on them so they end up neglected. When looked after, they actually hold up better than an RB does. The only downside is you usually have to buy two of everything since it's a V6 rather than a straight 6. I also found it amusing when you mentioned how the brakes are an upgrade for other cars, when they're probably the weakest part of a Z32. They stop much better with some 370Z Akebono or CTSV brakes on them. 👍
