Overall how much did it cost u for the setup and would it work on an auto trans or be better with a manual? Super solid build man just got one myself
@TheIS300Kid4 ай бұрын
It all depends on how deep you want to go into it/how nice you want things looking because things add up real fast. I had this car na-t auto before with a 55mm turbo it made 380whp/340tq it ripped but since I changed to an aftermarket intake I couldn’t use the e-shift just the L-2-3 which was still fun shifting it like that and especially paired with that turbo. I’d say it’s all preference but in my opinion I would say go manual. It’s not as convenient and “quick” as an auto but once you learn the car you’ll be be beating these newer auto 6-10speed cars I have my self easily just on this setup/stock motor. Nice there you go man these are some of the best cars of its era! Good luck with your build 👌🏽

The new Haltech Nexus series can control the engine and transmission too in pretty sure.. they’re reasonably priced compared to other computers and it’s already one of the best brands.

Can u explain what exactly did you have to replace in order for it to handle over 350hp with the GE vvti? I've heard from numerous sources that the ge vvti con rods are thin and only good for around 350-400hp and replacing the pistons would be a good idea too, not to mention if it's a good idea to run off of a completely stock transmission, is the block any different from any other 2jz blocks? I'm looking into buying a lexus is300 too and i want to know what i need to safely and properly boost one of them to 500-700hp without blowing anything in the engine bay or transmission housing sky high 😅
@TheIS300Kid4 ай бұрын
@@Kai-mg1rz you don’t really have to replace anything for the ge vvti; except for getting the parts you need for boost. The most important things are good fuel system, good tuner who knows what he’s doing, and the coil on plugs help add more HP; even induction performance, and a few tuners in my area said it so I believe that will help a lot to make the most power on a stock ge vvti. I have a g35-1050 on the car now, and had a 55mm turbo on it with the stock auto trans and it still ripped for a nice budget setup.. don’t let people tell you otherwise about the ge vvti not holding over 300whp.. they probably don’t even have a boosted is300. The auto trans can hold 400-500hp max with no mods and it’s still fun and fast. It made 380hp 340tq. But if you want 500-700hp all you need is a GTE block or non vvti GE block and your golden. You can still buy the blocks brand new from Toyota.. check out my other videos they will help you out a lot 🫡

I see i see. Lets say im on a real tight budget and want to keep the ge vvti in the is300, would it just be possible to swap the cylinder internals ie pistons, con rods etc with oem gte parts and cylinder head and be safe and reliable for over 600+hp?
