Kurt, we finally located our Shepherd following the sudden death of our Opie twin about two years ago. Dasha was so laid back and mellow even as a puppy. The little girl my wife and daughter bought in Alabama is a pistol. Mellow ain’t in her vocabulary, and hasn’t been since we got her 7 weeks ago. She’s now 16 weeks. I’m too old for babies.😂

The way i understand it, as long as you're parked passed the scale you're okay. I'm sure they can check the camera's to see when you pulled in to check your off duty time. But then again it's not like they need an excuse to do an inspection

Slept at a scale one time in my 12 year career. Woke up to a DOT officer pounding on my door. He said; before you get ready to leave, hop on the scale for me please! Needless to say, I never shut down at scales anymore, no matter what!

I have never been bothered parking at a scalehouse. That whole “Us vs Them” mentality is a myth from the “old days”, and it was mostly a myth even back then. Run legal, don’t drive junk equipment, and leave the bad attitude in the truck if you get called inside. Not having crap piled on your dash helps also. For as much as people whine about the California scales, I cross a California port at least twice per month and have never had a problem. One Level II on Cajon Pass northbound got me a clean inspection and a $75 bonus from the company.
