Great video, it's criminal that Sleeping Dogs never got a sequel, could you imagine how many people would've given it a shot in the 10 years of GTA V, especially if they were able to add great online features.

Everything you have to do to obtain 100% is so much fun and as you mentioned, this game does not have a dull moment. It's in my top 5 games of all time and sits among my other favourite games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Grand Theft Auto IV. You can tell that the developers put everything into this game to make it the best it could be and it really paid off. Sleeping Dogs is a masterpiece!

Sleeping Dogs is one of the few sandboxes I let the MC walk around in and take in the sights and sounds. Seeing Wei in some areas of HK, I can almost smell the street food / seawater / dirty canal water / booze / opulent perfume depending on which area I take him around in.

I bought the game 2 days ago. That wasn't the first time I played sleeping dogs. I emulated the PS3 version like 2 months ago and at that time, I fell IN LOVE WITH IT. But it didn't really work well since RPCS3 kept crashing. But now I have the definitive edition from steam and I fell in love once again. The gameplay was so much smoother rather than my experience with emulation. So I find it criminal that Sleeping Dogs got slept on. The game deserves more recoginition and it's so sad it won't get a sequel.

Kowloons gate is a weird ps1 game set in kowloon wall city. It has since become a cult classic however unfortunately was never sold outside of Japan so has no English language

Rockstar would never make a game like this, they're too busy milking GTA 5 for 11 years due to corporate greed. And even if Rockstar did hypothetically make a similar game to Sleeping Dogs, it definitely wouldn't be as good as Sleeping Dogs. The GTA games never had good hand-to-hand melee combat and a similar game from Rockstar would pale in comparison to Sleeping Dogs in terms of melee combat. On top of that, all Rockstar cares about is online nowadays, so a game from them would just be some grindy sharkcard-infested garbage.

I am currently replaying the game at the age of 19 With a slightly older mindset I wanna see how the story of wei shen goes, being an undercover cop in the triads of his childhood friends. Seems like a crazy idea. Having to basically live a double life One thing though, i did wear the cop outfit in the cutscene where they suspect i was a rat. It was funny to see lol. I also learnt that going on dates can help you see collectibles on the mini map which is helpful.

Bought this game with promo price and I like it although it is crashing on my PS5. But after few attempts game works fine. The story is ok, like a classic movies from the 90s. Fighting system is cool, riding vehicles also, shooting less, but over all gameplay is fun. And Hong Kong by night looks great! 7.5/10 for me :)

Sleeping Dogs is one of my favourite games of all time and great successor to the True Crime games (which I LOVED)! I re-discovered it in my backlog yesterdat and decided to begin a new save and man, it is far better than I remebered. It always gave me old school martial arts/action movie vibes and this is what I love most about it. A pure badass protagonist on a quest for vengeance while trying to rediscover himself with twists interesting characters and fun dialogue at times plus we get Emma Stone doing the voice of Amy and Lucy Liu as inspector Teng. Amazing story, huge mission variety and many side activities, combat is top notch even by today's standards and I could go on and on. It is a MUST have game in my opinion.

This is a really good idea. I think it should be an option and not forced onto the player, similar to how the recent Yakuza games allow you to play in English or Japanese. If this language option was added to a sequel to Sleeping Dogs it would definitely make players play through the game multiple times to experience the different languages.

I played this game when I came out in and I loved it. Fast forward 13 years later my 7 year old daughter was looking for a game to play. I recommended this due to the combat and open world game play and it's her favorite game and she is demanding a sequel lol. Maybe one day.... 😊

Sleeping dogs is a masterpiece. It's absolutely amazing. The problem is it's automatically seen as a GTA clone, it couldn't be more different. I see Sleeping dogs as literally playing all those late 90s early 2000s east meets west crossover action movies, Jackie Chan Jet Li, rush hour, Romeo must die, cradle to the grave etc. the feel, the story, the set pieces, every fight, it's straight out of a movie and it plays so perfectly. You don't have the urge to go explore like a GTA, you have the urge to go from mission to mission like scene to scene cause you're strapped in wanting to see where it goes next. You binge it like your favourite series cause you need to know what happens next. Wei initially is a little generic, quickly becomes very likeable, the voice acting gets better and better as the game unfolds. It really is a Hollywood movie played perfectly. And those fights...

Although it got a little grindy, I was enjoying it. But I gave up and uninstalled after unsuccessfully trying to do the mission (forgot what it was called) with installing the surveillance devices in the kitchen vents. It's bad enough trying to precisely manipulate the l & r sticks when I have debilitating effective tremor, but it's impossible when you only have 30 seconds to do it. Pretty fun game otherwise.
