Sleeping Frog Detecting Adventure

Join me on this metal detecting adventure in the winter woods. I find some cool relics and also a "cool" hibernating (or may in torpor) tree frog in the leaf littler. I hated to disturb the little froggy and hope I did not interrupt his winter slumber.

What I like about your videos is that you give solid tips on the how-to of metal detecting. Also you provide great history lessons on the targets that you dig. Thirdly you are excited about all your finds. You probably have thousands of three ringers by now but you make every new addition seem like a first. Thanks!

That Spencer cartridge looks like it was used by a wounded soldier to bite down on after being shot or while being amputated....definitely looks like it was bitten. Cool find.

The chigg would say if you watch his videos you'd know that no one can actually put teeth marks on a bullet by biting it, you will break your teeth. It was most likely chewed on by a hog. ( Chiggs words not mine. Lol)

about 2 month ago out detecting i put the shovel in the dirt and cut a little frogs head off with beautiful bright yellow legs...just his guts were keeping him together. He must have been buried down for the winter. I thought about that damn frog for 2 weeks.

A nice hunt again Chigg. Your always concerned about any critters you come across and don’t harm them. Have a question for you. I have a AT Pro international and have just about given up detecting due to it false signals all the time. Is there any way it can be fixed at all. Only on a small pension and can’t afford to replace it even for a cheaper Ace type detector. Would appreciate any help you can give on this dreaded machine before I give up completely and sell the damn thing and give up detecting for good. Keep the hunts coming as throughly enjoy the hunts

May I pick your brain? We used a metal detector in our yard and found an old door buried, it was laid down on top of four bricks at its corners like they were holding the door up but it was completely surrounded by dirt. Any thoughts on why or what it was there for?

Question...Is there any significant reason why some eagle buttons were silver plated? I found one that was silver gilt instead of gold gilt. We don't find many up north but the silver one was quite different and it seems all the ones I see dug are gold.
