Tools needed for this project:

Saw blades- amzn.to/3Obnj8V
Tape measure- amzn.to/428NGCq
Safety goggles- amzn.to/42c2KiE
You will need a sheet of 1/2" thickness plywood or similar.
Measure your vehicle space.
Trace out your shapes.
Measure twice, cut once!
Put together your platform.
Add a mattress & bedding.. now you can sleep a little more comfortably!

Just take the back seat out, its only a few bolts and turns your small car into a far more useful van. Weve always done it with our cars, it totally transforms their usability. Bonus, it also saves about 50kg of weight, make the car more fuel efficient.

Thank you so much for your video. I've started this build this long weekend in NZ. Not only will platform serve me well to sleep on (when I go outta town) but the storage is perfect for my portable generator, electric tyre pumper upper, first aid kit, tools, hi vis jacket etc. At the moment, that stuff takes up space in my car on a daily basis. I live rurally. It takes me 30 minutes to get to work. Now I'll be able to put my gym bag, groceries, rubbish etc on top of the storage compartment tidy like. So looking forward to the end result. Thanks again.

Thanks for this good straight to the point video, handy tips again with humour. I have average age estate car & later found out when back seats folded down it "still" somehow keeps it all level so a perfect hobo car...but they stopped making them 6yrs ago. Volvo XC70 model. If needed I can put up my small pop up tent in back for quick privacy, I've tried it & it works just! You could try it 1day!🤔 Regards.

Neat! Yea I had a look xc70 is rare here in NZ, we call that kind car a “station wagon”. Euro cars are not common here and the mechanics don’t fix them (very expensive to repair!) the most common cars here are Japanese- Toyota, Nissan, Mazda etc. I hope to get another Toyota in the future it was a great machine for many years until the repair bill became to much- it was old, 1996. This small car is only good shelter in a pinch, but the modification makes this possible

Yes even here the parts for xc70 are expensive, good car indeed but yes I know any repairs will cost me alot🫣. I know several people who rave about Toyota cars. In long future I will look into Toyota & volvo. But as you prob guessed I'm into bicycles, nature, camping much more than cars! Off to tesco now for bread, if none I'll refer to your bread vid again!😁 B4n
