I like to watched every vanlife in yt and this is the first time I saw stealth vanlife in the city of new York. I mean yeah there's yt vanlife that ever do camp in new York but mostly they park their van in campervan outskirts of downtown, or in the famous van alley. But you did camp in the center 😂 with honking around.

I can't believe you slept there. I used to work 1 1/2 blocks south of there in the GE building. It is a busy street, heart of the city. Only thing worse would be Times Square. It's an entertaining stunt overnight for a vlog, though. Except for the fire truck sirens, it looks pretty peaceful at night. Kudos for rising to the challenge.

Also, I get back to NYC 3+ times a year, and I always get gyros from street vendors. I usually dont get platters but I like what you did, but what was the green stuff. Parking overnight on any avenue in NYC takes some serious stealth skills. Parking rules and restrictions are complicated and confusing. Making a mistake will cost you a few hundred dollars. Nice job, looks like you did it right.

only thing is the 100 plus dollar ticket you gotta watch for they real quick in nyc and the tow trucks thats even more somewhere 300 dolars because you gotta pay the ticket with the tow fees i would park more in between streets on the upper or lower streets where you can park without worry about the ticket or tow man but great video love the edits or better yet in Queens or Brooklyn

I understand your concern, but most of the parking spaces around midtown are available from 10 pm to 8 am for non-commercial vehicles if I am not mistaken. In NY, there is one rule you must know if you are building a van and want to park on the street at night: you must install rear door windows and bunk windows in order to obtain passenger vehicle plates. If your van doesn't have any windows, you can only get a commercial plate, which means you can't park on the street at night. You only pay taxes when you purchase the van. Additionally, my van is fully off-grid capable. I hope this helps.
