This channel was what allowed me to really get into and practice magic. Three years later I am still working on some of the basics on this channel. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity and paving the way for magic in my life.

Ya know... I have never had much interest in card tricks, but I came across this on a whim and figured I'd try it. Your instructions are great! I was doing a slower version in about an hour of practice, and this is from someone who has issues shuffling cards. Thanks so much!

Any tips on how to do this any quicker? Obviously practice but I mean things like finger position and things like that.
@tyrieff1210 жыл бұрын
Nice man ! I find it easier to actually do the actual swivel part when you turn the cards clockwise with your thumb rather than your pointer finger.
@alfreddimond58815 жыл бұрын
Its pretty simple but it took me 1 hour to follow because the camera is showing opposite our point of view. So his left hand, from the viewer's point of view, is on the right. His right hand, from the viewer's point of view is on the left. Everytime he does a move, we have to adjust our viewpoint and do the move from our side. Its kind of confusing for the first 20 minutes or so. But after watching the video many times for 1 hour, I finally got it and it turns out to be very simple. Thanks for the video.

I don't know how I didn't get it until now but that rotation bit with our index finger, I kept wanting to do it basically anti-clockwise and my hands just got in the way. Telling me to show the back of the cards somehow got it to click. I have no idea how I found this so difficult to get but it brought me a lot of joy to learn how to do this!

So I just learned the Sybil from your other video a couple hours ago, and I still need practice with it, but to break up the monotony I started on this one. Sure, it's a much easier flourish, but I pretty much nailed it on the second try. A few more tries and I started to feel pretty good about it! I've still got a long way to go, but If you've ever wondered whether or not your tutorials are any good at helping us noobs, wonder no more! Thanks again, Jay!

I appreciate your feedback man! Glad I can help guide you on your sleight of hand journey
@yugioh88103 жыл бұрын
thanks I just learned this trick from your video and i figured out a way to make it more smooth this way: once you take your first cut with the other hand dont hold it against your thumb, instead let your thumb loose, and as you're placing your the first cut at the bottom already have your thumb adjusted to be inserted between the remaining two cuts. Then you can just steal with one motion. otherwise you have to replace your thumb from against the first cut (as you're holding it) to the middle of the remaining two cuts . this adds an additional thumb move that doesn't look as smooth

It´s insane! The people with the highest recognition on youtube are both bad performers as well as no authorities in sleight of hand at all. But yet they are all over the place exposing material they don´t even know proper and teaching bad stuff. Man I had to say it ot loud! I feel better now. This channel however is really refreshing. Great work Jay! Keep it up!

I like his vids too - don't get me wrong. But, I find that the best way to view this is by flipping your screen upside down by right-clicking your mouse, going to "display settings", "display orientation", and then "landscape (flipped)". Then view it at the lowest speed. I'm not sure why he hasn't started filming POV tutorials yet. Best way to learn magic.

As a super beginner I've just bought the Stripper deck from Bicycle and I've noticed that after this cut the middle chunk gets rotated 180 degrees which actually breaks the deck for the "stripping" tricks to be performed. I was wondering, is there a version of this cut which also keeps the card orientation of all 3 chunks? Or maybe as a workaround, when I would like to do the stripping tricks, I just won't do this kind of cut and I will leave it for some later "real magic" tricks you show here which I am not able to do yet :-D.

During the switch of the two packs in the first part of the cut, I like to pivot the middle deck into my left hand after grabbing the single deck with the bottom of my right hand... it creates two back to back pivots and also kind of disguises the swapping of the two packs a bit... its very similar to a helix 190 cut, but slightly different...
@Stellarffxi6 жыл бұрын
maybe it is a helix 190, just a little bit different method than im accustomed to.. haha

Awesome videos man! I have never tried card tricks like this before tonight. I sat down with a deck of cards for an hour or so. It's pretty crazy how quickly I was able to pick up some of these moves. I'm still sloppy but the improvement over such a short period of time surprised me. I play guitar and I think that it's translating very well here. ....now if I could only silence the card snap during my Cardini.

It's a great cut but I notice that you don't perform the steal very cleanly. It's a lot smoother to steal and swap at the same time. I don't know, maybe you're doing it for demo purposes but it looks rough.
