In today's episode, I am playing against MTG Phil from Russia. He is bringing an interesting combo deck to the table. His brew contains multiple tricks; such as Sleight of Mind & White Knights, Pestilence & COP Black, and Northern Paladin & Deathlace. Add blue power to that mix and you have a strong deck with lots of synergies.I am battling this creation with my new MTG Orgg deck, featuring a playset of Orrgs and lots of cards to tap things down and clear the path for y 6/6 trampling monster!
06:54 - Take me to the Games!
If you would like to know more about Phil's deck and/or see his channel, please check out the link below, • Old School Magic 93/94...

This Old School Magic Game plays according to the Atlantic B&R list and rules with the Atlanctic re-print policy. That means you can include Fallen Empires and Mana Burn is real in this old school Magic the Gathering format.

I thought that thing with pestilence and the factory trick does´nt work because in the final phase the factory bekomes a land and the pestilence is destroyed, not?I think that with the old rules at least the thing worked like that right? Now the rule allow that play? In that case you could make the same thing for not to destroying drop of honey not?

Pestilence's leaves play ability is a triggered ability. So at the beginning of the end step you put Pestilence ability on the stack, then respond by activating the Factory. Stack clears last in first out, which has Factory animating, then Pestilence checking for creatures. So yes it works for Pestilence. As to Drop of Honey, Drop of Honey's leaves play ability is not step dependent like Pestilence's is, so the moment there are no creatures on the battlefield Drop of Honey's ability goes on the stack. You can keep it alive with a Factory but you'd need to activate it during each player's turn and hope it doesn't get killed by the Drop of Honey during your upkeep.

sleight of mind actually changes all instances of a color word with another. So for Gloom it would affect both.

I was hoping for a time to see finally this old school shinanegans synergies reunited : MISHRA-PESTILENCE + COLOR COP TRICKS & HOSE wow....the games undergone by this kind of deck is SOOO Magic pure sense of imprevesibility and flavorfull. In my opinion, this is what Magic origins was oriented to as game multi-variable richness. THIS IS...MAGIC.

I love Orgg! I run it in my BRG Ponza deck. Nothing more funny than the look on an opponent's face when they see the Orgg, especially when it smacks them. What's great about Ponza is that the Factories are a non-issue for that deck to run the Orgg(using EC rules). I use Word of Binding and Winter Blast alongside Icy, it's handy to not have a telegraphed source of creature tapping available. Also nice for being able to tap multiple creatures at once. For your deck check out Word of Binding. Another consideration is having a Disk or two, the capacity to nuke the board can be useful. Once again great decks! Playing Paralyze the way you did first game is most likely what cost you that game, LOL. With all the great decks you all rock I'd love to go up against them. Eschewing tier one decks in Old School is the most fun way to play, IMHO.

Thanks Daniel, right now I'm very tempted to add a Netling Imp just because they go so well with my icy and royal and could create an opening for my Orgg to swing in. Word of Binding is also a great card. Thanks for the ideas!

Are you referring to the one at 24:00 where I activated my Circle for (4)? You're right, we forgot about this, now red enchantments cost more to activate, not the white ones

Dear Tim, What would happen if you Clone a Northern Paladin, which was Sleighted? Would it also copy the changed color word? 🤔
@TimmytheSorcerer
@TimmytheSorcerer 4 жыл бұрын
No, I don't think so unfortunately.
@ralphdams7568
@ralphdams7568 4 жыл бұрын
But if a creature was e.g. Deathlaced, so “painted black”, the Clone would become a black card also, right? Even if the original creature was non-black. The card’s original color is gone, or isn’t it?
@mtgphil42
@mtgphil42 4 жыл бұрын
@@ralphdams7568 As the Oracle says: 01/07/2012 "Clone copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing more (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn’t copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on. " This might have not been the case in Alpha, I'm not sure, but now Clone is just treated as a newly summoned card.
