I’ve just found your Chanel. O my goodness, as a complete numpty when it comes to sewing, I’ve found your tutorials very educational. Many thanks.

Thank you for the free pattern ! NOT clickbait like other channels 😂! You are a great teacher. Garment is nicely finished. Hard to find that binding since, it’s getting harder and harder to find a sewing store in New York City. Might have to make my own bias tape, arg!😠 😩 Greetings from New York City! 👍🏼🇵🇷🗽❤️

I’d like a side seam pocket (maybe out of tricot so there’s no bulk). No need to use bias binding just a hem with narrow elastic but not too gathered if you get my drift . Can also use elastic cording with bungee cords on the sides. Can you tell I really hate binding? 🤪

Good alternatives thank you@@TheEvie202 ! A pocket is a great idea! You can hack one in if you search for an inseam pocket tutorial. Good luck!

Im very confused with the collar instructions 😭😭😭 I have all the materials but would love to get a little more feedback about the collar before I make it.
@SlewLiving4 жыл бұрын
The collar is tricky! It's 2 layers so both pieces are the same size but 1 is finished to the outside (so the outer collar) and 1 is finished to the inside (the inner collar, which you can think of as a lining). The outer collar is attached to the neckline of the bodice pieces, forming the collar shape that comes up the neck. The inner collar is attached to the outer collar at the very top of the jumper and then sits on the inside, just like a lining. Hope that helps!

Ur looking so cute in ur Patagonia made fleece jacket 😍 I love it!!! But I'm more of a full zip guy, the only reason y is bcuz I feel a little trapped in half zip rather than a full zip bcuz u can quickly take it off and it fits/hangs nicely over the chair
@SlewLiving4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Haha, I can understand the full zip benefits! Maybe I'll have a go at sewing a full zip next 👍 (Although just a note, hanging garments on chairs can distort their shape - mostly for blazers, formalwear - so keep that to a minimum to keep their shape for longer!)

@leo.hatdichlieb4 жыл бұрын
how much fabric do you need?
@SlewLiving4 жыл бұрын
Hi! For my jumper I used roughly 75cm of the blue fleece (for the sleeves, collars and upper half of the bodice) and another 75cm for the lower half of the bodice. Both my fabric widths were around 130cm at least. I've included more detailed instructions in the Google drive link! Just note that the fabric you need will really depend on the size you are creating! For reference I am usually a size XS 😊

Hello! Thanks for the video! Where do you buy your bias binding? Can you recommend one? I can´t find any!
@SlewLiving4 жыл бұрын
Hi! You're welcome! I bought my binding pre-packaged from Spotlight (an Australian fabric/trims store). Sorry I'm not familiar with many international haberdashery stores, but if you know any local ones it's highly likely they will stock bias binding. Otherwise if you google 'bias binding' I'm sure there will lots of options online too, especially ebay and etsy. Good luck!

@Bieberbeadles363 жыл бұрын
How do you accurately trace your patterns? the front and back piece of mine does not match 😭
@SlewLiving3 жыл бұрын
It can take a couple of tries to get used to admittedly! Make sure your jumper is nice and flat before trying to trace it too, you can iron it flat if it helps. Then use some weights to hold it down and slowly trace around parts as you go. It doesn't have to be exact, especially for this jumper style! It can be a little bigger to be more comfortable. You can measure the side seams and shoulder seams of your existing jumper and compare it to what you've traced and make adjustments from there too. Hopefully that helps!
