Mr. Sinatra was very kind to my teenage mom in the late 40s in Hollywood. Frank & his pals actually looked out for her like uncles. We met him together in the early 80s & I shared his whiskey drink! Today, I treasure the memories & my one-of-a-kind Sinatra collection. Bless you, Frank, Jimmy Van Heusen, Hank Sanicola, Bullets Durgom. You were class personified.

There were few in the whole world who didn't know the name, "FRANK SINATRA'' by the time he left us in 1998. He is a legend in many ways, but his musical talent and presentation of the songs that he sans were straight from his heart, and one could tell that and relate! Probably one of the most famous men in the world before he died, he still carries the attention of the public for many reasons, he was so kind to people who needed help (anonymously, of course); he didn't need more admiration than he already had, but he had a big heart and shared his wealth with many who wouldn't even know where the kind gifts came from, he didn't want that! His singing talent has meant so much and been such an inspiration to so many, that he; will never ever be forgotten!

It's hard to separate fact from fiction as far as Frank Sinatra is concerned but for anybody close to my age,70,there is no doubt that he was one of the greatest singers ever to live and most of us will have some of his recordings in one form or another, at his very best and with a good script, he was also a very good actor and I bet most of us courted a girl and played Frank Sinatra records to her at some point and when we are all gone, Frank Sinatra records will still be played in some form.

I recently visited Las Vegas to visit my grandson, new granddaughter and my new great grandson. Thought the visit was wonderful, i found Vegas nothing like the Vegas in the days of the rat pack! That was my era also. I don’t think the rat pack would like Vegas today, I know i was a little?? Disappointed. But thats me, I’m old school i guess, also old!!! Lolol thank you so much for this story 🌹

My mother has a friend who used to work as an oper for Willy Brandt, the german kansler during the 70's. During this time she would fly in Frank Sinatra's private jet as he was close friends with Willy Brandt.

Frank & his backing music! Uplifted my spirits through my lifes ups and downs since 1954 when I was 10yrs of age. Now at 80 I perform singing his recorded songs along playing Harmonica. Every time I perform, his spirit rises within me, giving me the vocal drive in my best efforts to emulate him. He enriched my life beyond measure and beyond words apt enough to express my gratitude that he was there as a part of my lifetime. RIP Frank....hope to see you for a song duo....on the other side. 🤠🤠🥳🥳

It's really wonderful for me, someone half your age, to hear how much this man & his music meant to you. I really wish I were alive to experience his music when it first came out when it was fresh to the world. Thanks for your comment!

There's at least one excellent book about him out there. What interests me most is the his formative years. He worked as a "singing waiter" when he was still a teen and got beat up on the regular but he kept on.

Error! During the lensing of Mia Farrow in "Rosemary's Baby", it ran over schedule and Frank impatiently waited for her to star opposite him in "The Detective", not, as stated in this wonderful documentary, "Tony Rome". Frank reached the limit of his patience, cast Jacqueline Bisset and had his attorney serve Mia Farrow with a divorce petition while she was on the set of "Rosemary's Baby" .

I think as an Italian he would have been thought of by some as a 'spic' rather than a 'dago'. Get your racialist epithets right !
