I saw a new anims pack in the store with reverse grip animations for blades, so I'm thinking to buy it and make Starkiller-like saber wielding in one of the next videos. Stay tuned and thanks 4 ur support :)

Is this applicable to skeletal meshes?

Not that I'm aware of. If you want to chop skel mesh limbs - it's still doable, but not at the exact place of where the slice happened: you can simply hide bones, such as hands/legs, don't remember the exact BP function name, and place a floating arm/leg in its place. That's how dismemberment plugins work, AFAIK.

When I touch the mesh with my lightsaber it automatiacally deletes instead of only breaking when I swing at the mesh, how do I fix this?

When you are casting the hit component class in the Lightsaber BP after line trace, get the character mesh from Third Person char BP and check whether you are playing an anim montage at that time. That's the simplest approach I can think of.
