Slide Mountain - The Catskills

My first time in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. I got a little more than I was mentally prepared for in early November, but it turned into a fun day hike and I will definitely be back for more.

Super! I first climbed Slide Mountain when I was fifteen years old with my father back in 1969 toward the end of a late October day in nearly identical conditions. Took the thruway up from New York to Route 28 then just past Phoenicia we would make a left at Big Indian on a smaller road to the trail head. I believe the trail head was moved since. We went on to climb many times since. My father is long gone and I moved to the opposite end of the earth many years ago. Slide Mountain is just a dream...

Yeah, Slide Mountain is pretty great. This was my first time ever hiking in the Catskills, and man I got a pretty good taste of it on this one. LOL I wasn't expecting snow in November, but it made for an amazing hike. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Another great video! I'm lucky to have the Catskills within a 2 hour ride from where I live. Always had a great time in those mountains! Can't wait for your next video! Keep them coming!

The production value of this hiking video was really great. I’m kinda jealous. You fell short on the burger. So close to some of the best burgers in NY !!!!!! Now, I have to binge a few more of your vids.

If I hike up slide mountain, is someone able to drive up to the top and pick me up? Is there a road for cars to get to the top?

Sorry, but there are no roads going to the summit of Slide Mountain. The closest you can get with a car is the Slide Mountain West Trailhead (where I parked in this video).
