The real Wolf of Wall Street
In the 80's and 90's, the stock market was a place where ambition turned into greed. Here, there was only one rule: make money and spend money.
It was a world dictated by vice: fancy cars, expensive drugs, crazy parties, and lots of sex.
And one name stands out: Jordan Belfort.
We've all seen the movie and heard all the legends. But there's more to the real-life Wolf of Wall Street than a couple of books and a movie. And we'll tell you all about it, in this episode of Company Forensics.

the irony : Wolf of Wall Street movie acquired funding from a controversial malaysian sovereign wealth fund (1MDB). What a real life plot !
@oliver1492
@oliver1492 3 жыл бұрын
An even more interesting fact: when the real Jordan Belfort was invited to a party hosted by the producers of the Wolf of wall st, he saw how much money was being thrown around and wasted by Jho Low (the mastermind behind the 1MDB fraud) and told several people that “no one would do that with money they made legitimately.” This was a year or two before the scandal was revealed to the public, so he guessed quite well!

Here’s the thing: Jordan feels bad, but most likely at the same time doesn’t. Why? Because his “story” was put in the spot light. His scams and illegal activity is borderline praised. There was a movie that was extremely successful about him, people now always post clips and put “sigma” stuff all over it. It’s almost like disciplining a child and then afterward saying how cute it was how the child did something bad. Jordan’s apparent lack of repentance is 100% due to the public. People cannot get mad at him for something they encouraged

The movie downplayed this man's sociopathy. The movie made his ex wife look like just and opportunistic gold digger but he was emotionally abusive and told his wife the only way she would ever leave him was in a body bag 😱. The abuse was so bad she went to therapy after leaving him. The only way she could leave him and not dying was him going to prison. Anyway, I kinda like some things he says about how to be more charismatic. If there is anyone you can learn to fake it till you make it from, it's a sociopath like him.

If someone is a legitimate businessman, and an entrepreneur, they’re not gonna sell courses on it. They’re gonna be too busy with running their own business and expanding their own wealth. The real millionaires and billionaires aren’t on social media flashing their wealth to the world. They’re too busy for that nonsense. Don’t buy into these fake gurus online who steal each other’s buzzwords to pump you up. The crap they’re selling is basic common sense that everyone knows, they just pitch it enthusiastically so gullible idiots fall for it. They don’t have a real product to sell. Their product is empty motivations and simple tips that everyone in the business world understands. Imagine believing every fake guru that pops up on KZbin ad flashing their fake houses and rented Lamborghinis. Man you two are gullible lmao.

@@leoalphaproductions8642 Buddy, his business is courses and guest speaking, he has made millions upon millions of dollars made off of them and has been recommended by top companies that hired him to speak. I don't think you get that way by being a fake guru. He doesn't flex cars or houses to get people to buy into his program he quite literally only made his Instagram account in 2017 nearly ten years after he started his courses. He also gives so much free advice on his podcast and youtube channel which proves useful. Do some research before you rant on youtube comments, if you want a real fake guru why don't you take a look at Grant Cardone who knows even less than Dan Bilzerian about business.

It’s something like being a hacker nowadays. You can work with good companies and people, that will surely pay you well, but if you know that there are other methods of making much more money “that you can’t even spend” that are not quite legitimate, you would probably consider which route you are going. It’s all about how greedy you become and how good you are at controlling it. Sadly it’s in our nature to want more so if we initially make the better decision I suppose we should be in a better position…legally wise.

This new format with black shady background doesn't look good that much as compared to the earlier one with colourful animations. Although the content is top-notch. Kudos to the team.

My thoughts about the movie (no spoilers): 1. You grow to dislike all the characters: Belfort, his associates, even the FBI agents trying to catch him. There's no one to root for or feel sympathy towards. 2. Every line of dialogue has excessive swearing. After 15 minutes, it grows tiring and has no more meaning. I really like the topic matter, Scorsese, and DiCaprio though. And everyone did a fine job acting their roles. But in the end, I didn't really care either way if the FBI caught him or not.

No everyone did an amazing truly almost out of this world acting job. Jonah Hill and Leo had 10/10 performances some of the best in their careers. They perfected the drugs high perfectly and displayed their emotions on point.

This video doesn't quite warrant the company forensics title in my humble opinion. Its definitely entertaining and to some degree informative, but maybe it could fit in a new category.

Did anybody else notice Belfort used practically every recreational drug under the sky BUT tobacco? At least in the movie Wolf of Wall Street. Donnie smokes in a few scenes, but not Belfort; much unlike the protagonists of Scorcese's previous crime biopics, Good Fellas and Casino, who smoked compulsively. I don't know if real Jordan Belfort was a smoker, but maybe this detail was a subtle hint by Martim Scorcese about the difference between a typical gangster and a white-collar gangster: not much.

Probably the coke had him buzzing enough already.. there was no sense in going outside. Having a smoke. Wasting 5 minutes when he could blast a snort or whatever its called and be loaded in seconds.. for him it was just about effective time management..which makes it borderline impressive In fact for some reason seeing someone outside a building smoking screams loser to me.. i dunno about you.. its just so dirty and lonely.. better seeing a person chatting at a restaurant loudly with a drink

SHOCKER‼ Jordan Belfort was a liar‼ He never made up or coined the name for himself Wolf of Wall Street‼ Are you ready❓ It was Thurston Howell the third, From the show Gilligan's island. That show was from the mid-sixties to late 60s. He called himself the Wolf of Wall Street.

When even this video is inncorrect...Belfortwas required to pay %50 UNTIL 2009 (Which he did; And, yes. The courts affirmed it.) There was no stipulations placed on income generated after 2009, but, he has paued roughly %25 per year (due to child support arrearages, and other legal obligations)
