Thanks for this. Nothing better than typing 'install handle cavity sliding door" and have the exact door, handle and install video come up!

Exactly what I needed to know. How to dig out the hole. Thought I was going to have to buy a tool but a simple chisel does the job.

Thanks for this. Doing this today. Was going to muck about with router but this looks easy enough.

Oh good stuff maximum chips.. glad it helped🤙 PS a sharp chisel is our friend!

@@InspireDIY Yep went really well. Took my time and marked correctly and chiselled a little bit at a time. Looks good. I had a dodgy olde inherited chisel so went and got a nice 5 pack of new ones in a case, should last a long time. Fairly sharp out of the box, but will work on them a bit more to get them really sharp later. Thanks again.

Yeah I think we all have that dodgy old chisel ...it never gets thrown out 😂.

Like some others I had thought I would have to use a router, but this looks like the best way to do the job. One issue, the audio wasn't very good. I'm glad that you had your comments written. Still it would be better if your audio was better. I had everything on my end turned up all the way. But, thanks again for the video. That helped. Those pulls are exactly what I'm dealing with. Perfect.

What if it’s a hollow door? Will a chisel still work or would I need some other tool? Thanms
@InspireDIY9 ай бұрын
Hey Cort, this demonstration was done on a hollow-core door as most internal doors are now. There is always a 25-30mm (1 inch) timber frame around its perimeter, and some have a little extra where the handle would be fitted. Just keep it close to the edge and all is well🤙 best of luck. Kent

How would you make sure the handle on the other side is installed EXACTLY at the same position?
@InspireDIY3 ай бұрын
Hey Doc, well it doesn’t have to be exactly the same.. but measure twice and cut once, just copy what you do on the first side onto the other 👌 cheers. Kent

o would appreciate instructions on how to install a pull in the edge. with the doors in place. the pull on the face of the door becomes inaccessible with the door fully opened.
@InspireDIY3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ross, Is this is a cavity slider or pocket door that you are talking about, or a sliding (barn) door? if it's a sliding door is it an option to move the 'door stopper' so the door doesn't completely open hiding the handle, I get this lessens the doorway size, alternatively (pocket door) you could install one of these (amazon affiliate link) amzn.to/3sCFGaZ thoughts? Kent
