Curios, Can this be used without installing the bottom track inside of the door? We want the sliding door affect, but to cover a window area - there is no bottom to put the small track "adjuster/holder". Thank you.

Awesome. Wish it showed how the first part is installed. Is the stationary part of the door screwed into the floor and ceiling...???
@RefreshHomeImprovements3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We actually have a more detailed version of this video in the works (so stay tuned). There isn’t technically a stationary part of the door with this hardware- think of it as a track door, but reversed. The track itself is on the door (instead of the wall) and the wheels get mounted to the wall. The door has wheels routed into the bottom (as well as a guide rail). There is a pin screwed to the floor directly below where the wheel hardware is mounted to the wall. The door/track slides back and forth but the wheel remains stationary. The pin sits in the guide rail, keeping the door from veering off course 🤯

How sound tight are they? I have existing pocket doors in my house and am super disappointed with how much sound escapes around the door

This looks so good! Have you ever installed this on a 3 door system instead of 2? If not, do you think it could work/hold?
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
We have only installed it in single door applications, so Unfortunately we can’t say definitively. We imagine you could quite easily use this hardware in a double door configuration, but beyond that it would certainly become complicated (to say the least 😎) 👍
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
What you’re seeing in this video is actually a single door mounted on a stationary wall designed to mimic the look of the door 👍

@@RefreshHomeImprovements would it be possible to install another moving door on the current moving door? And both doors to move back on top of the stationary door?

@@freakka in theory it should, but again, we have no idea how well it will work. It could be amazing, or it could be an expensive lesson in futility. If you’re willing to give it a shot, we’d love to know how it goes 👍

Can a lock be added to the door? And what is the gap between the door and the wall? Buying a small condo and the powder room door opens to the walking area. Would love to add something like this.
@RefreshHomeImprovements3 жыл бұрын
Great questions! Yes, any locking sliding/pocket door hardware could theoretically be added to this set up. The minimum clearance between the door and the wall (with the hardware routed into the door) is 12mm (just under 1/2”), and the max (hardware mounted on the face of the door) is 32mm (roughly 1,1/4”) 👍

@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
Great point. Yes, you do see the bar on the back side when the door is in the closed position. Because it’s recessed into the door, it’s not much of an eye sore- but you’re right we could have shown that angle too so people can judge for themselves 👍
@fiaf3395 Жыл бұрын
was wondering that too, and also that there must be a large gap between the 2 panels due to the rollers being attached on the side

What is the name of the hardware?
@Jesse-do4nm2 жыл бұрын
you should add the words "Magic door hardware" somewhere on your caption so that this video shows up. Would have loved to seen this a month or so ago when I was looking for videos. My question is this, how far away from the wall did you mount the metal guide?
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
Good idea 👍 We would have liked that too (we assure you it’s in the description and tags). If you’re referring to the wall mounted wheel mechanism, it totally depends on the situation- but there are minimum and maximum allowances listed in the instructions here: www.richelieu.com/documents/docsGr/119/854/3/1198543/1405176.pdf

@@RefreshHomeImprovements Im referring to the metal guide that mounts to the floor, that fits in the channel that is routed out on the bottom of the door. There is no instructions on how far to mount it from the wall.

Thanks for your video. I have a question that I don't see posted yet. I always find Richelieu's website confusing, at the top of the page it looks like they're saying they sell this hinge "4 by case" does that mean you get 4 of them? I only want 1. I'm hoping to use it for a bookcase door like another commenter mentioned. I also find their minimum/maximum door data sheet confusing af. But maybe if I wasn't just on my phone.
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
It certainly can be confusing! I think their website provides you the option to purchase multiple hardware sets at once, but you should be able to adjust the box number down to 1. The data sheet seems daunting at first, but we assure you if you read carefully and take your time, all the information you need is provided (and yes, its a lot easier with the hard copy you get in the box!) 👍. We recently visited this install again and did a quick video with some more info on the door here if you're interested 👉kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYard5xuaZpkj6M
@bronsontaylor73332 жыл бұрын
@@RefreshHomeImprovements yup! Thanks. I've watched that one too. I didn't know this hinge existed until your video. So I am grateful. I figured out my issue with their website too. I'll probably get a friend to print off the instructions before I pull the trigger though. Thanks for the reply!
