Hi, I am so glad that I was able to help! For some reason, sliding knots were always difficult for me, so once I figured it out, I thought others might like it too. :) I did consider editing the "oopsie" out, then figured people would get a laugh out of it. :D Thanks for your comment!

Thank you very much for this video! I have had a pendant in which the string finally wore out since I wear it all the time. I'm not good with knot work other than tying my shoe laces. 😊 So I was dreading having to replace my pendant cord. You explained and filmed very clearly how to do this. Thank you! My pendant has a fresh cord thanks to you. 😁

but even better than taking that tail over the 3 loops is taking it inside the coil and then inserting it in end loop and tightening...you don't have the end of the tail on top of the coiled area. Easy adjustment on this informational video.

can you make a sliding knot with hemp cord
@goawayleavemealone2880 Жыл бұрын
Is this possible with Rattail Cord, I don't like the feeling of leather cord and the necklace I'm trying to repair was originally made with Rattail Cord. I'm really struggling. Nevermind, maybe I'm just really useless when it comes to this sort of thing.

Can someone explain how to get the knots even on each side? I make the necklacre and the focal stone is attached in the center using the knots that people teach you. Then when I try to do an adjustable knot in the top, the knots are always lopsided. How do you fix that?
@beadedjewelrydiva2 жыл бұрын
Hi doglvr69, are you saying that you are knotting the focal into the necklace, and then when you make do the sliding knots those aren't evenly on either side of your neck? I have found that when making a sliding knot, one of the sides seems to take more length than the other does. Is it possible that with your focal that you don't knot it into the center of the necklace, but allow it to slide free?
@ripper69712 жыл бұрын
@@beadedjewelrydiva I have a lot of very nice Agate slices and donuts. I use the directions given by someone here and yes the first thing I do is do a fancy knot to hold the donut in place. Then I try to do the sliding knots and they are always lopsided. Once they are tied, I can't figure out how to take up the extra cord/slack on one side so they will be even. The donut will not slide on this. Any suggestions on how to make this work? It is making me crazy!!

Does anyone know how much cord you start with for a bracelet?

Hi Linda, it depends on how big your wrist is, but personally I would start out with around 15 inches. (I have a fairly chunky wrist.) ;)

@beadedjewelrydiva8 жыл бұрын
Hi! It really depends on the size of your hand, but a good place to start is 2 times the diameter of your wrist.
@tishatti8 жыл бұрын
+Beaded Jewelry Diva oh ty for replying so quickly!:) well my worst is about 16cm so what length should I use? I've already tried your method and it's worked beautifully! I too couldn't understand many of the other vids I watched. Yours was very clear, and you made me laugh when you messed up with the cutting, hehe!
