The first level probably uses entity sprite limit. It spawn a lot of entities offscreen to fill the limit and only when you kill all the enemies on screen the entities count goes below the limit and the muncher can spawn.
@CaptainMetal924 жыл бұрын
Was just about to post this. You always see these vids on how to trick the system to realize a certain mechanic but in the end never see it in real levels so this is nice for a change

I guess that would explain the softlock. If too many entities spawn above before the muncher can spawn, there'll be nothing to kill and the muncher will never appear.

The Matrix level isn't actually completely random, I believe; it uses Mario's movement since he entered the level to generate the information it needs, so if you move Mario in exactly the same way, the coin will always bounce to the same direction.

The enemies stop spawning because of ELB manipulation. There are hidden enemies offscreen that load when the screen moves over that brings the counter to 100, the limit. That's why you need to kill the enemies to bring the counter down, spawning the Muncher. The Spike doesn't spawn a projectile because that counts towards the ELB limit. The stage has custom auto-scroll so it can keep everything loaded while the player can't see it. I hope that clears some stuff up!
@JeffMakesGames4 жыл бұрын
I would love to make levels/super worlds since I like level/game design, but I just can't seem to justify buying a switch console just for SMM2 as it's the only game I am interested in. There would be two simple guidelines I would do with my levels: 1) Purposely add cheese when possible. (Makes speed runners happy.) 2) Kaizo blocks should never purposely trap a player or result in the player being killed.
@newt29424 жыл бұрын
Space Pig is amazing. He’s made a world that’s playable to experienced players that aren’t in to kaizo.
Looks like sprite limit reached on top of the hallways. that might prevent a muncher from spawning. like that!
