John, I ordered mine and you are correct. I have the newer attachments as seen on the manufacture video below. I believe the newer attachments are much more easier to attach and are more sturdier than ones shown in this video. Hence, the reason the upgraded attachments. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d36qiqeeobZ5q6s

Yeah, they have since made some changes that are slightly different than when I made this video. The one on their website has the updated piece, but overall the process is very similar.

Hi there and thanks for this video. I'm in Texas and I'm planning a road trip to Alaska soon. Since I'm going through Canada, I cannot take my handguns, so I will be taking my shotgun to have for protection from bear/wildlife/people while hiking. Do you recommend this sling or is there another option out there I'm not thinking of?

@@BackwoodsPursuit awesome! Do you find it too heavy? I have a vortex viper 5-25x50 but I haven’t hunted with it yet. I always hear all these hardcore people say oh that’s too much for hunting blah blah.

@scotthoward7150 haha...yeah, just depends on the person. It's about 23oz I believe, which I'm totally OK with personally. In all reality, 24x is more than most people need for hunting purposes, but I kinda like having it avaliable if needed. Depending on caliber and shooting skill, ultralight rifles can be a challenge to control the recoil, so I'm not personally not too concerned about a little extra weight in the rifle itself. Each will certainly have their own preferences though, which is totally fine.

I am really considering this product, as it looks great and I really like the idea of not having the barrel in front where it could interfere with glassing (I’m thinking of the Kifaru gun bearer when I say that). How would the slik work when, let’s say, you’re loaded down full and heavy with camp and meat? Would the gun still have room to sit back there properly?

Hey there Justin! Yeah, this will still work well when loaded down with meat (I packed out my deer this year using this Slik Sling). Worked great and kept my hands free and the rifle out of the way and secure. Thanks for watching!

You can run the rifle in front like the Gun Bearer If I’m in more technical areas I keep it one the back. But most of the time I use the front carry

I am just getting into multi-day hunting and am trying to get the most use I can out of the Osprey backpack that I already own. Once it's worn out, I will probably make the investment in a hunting pack. In the meantime, I am curious if anyone has experience in making this sling work on a non-hunting specific pack, such as an Osprey? Thanks!

I have this and the gun bearer. Both have their uses. If I’m not in grizzly country I like the gun back on the pack and out of the way. They work the same, but with this, the strap is long enough that I can put the rifle back on the pack when I’m loaded.

I have the Kifaru. Their main version fits only Kifaru packs. Their 'universal' model is supposed to fit other packs. I use a 'Bullpac' frame instead of a pack and didn't want it dedicated to either, so I wear a military type harness and attached the Kifaru gun bearer to that.
