I personally love that in this slime tutorial the pink slime goes first during the ballroom slime jiggling sequence while the green slime copies its movements, but in the slime tutorial theatrical release the roles are reversed and pink is following along to green, both are such interesting intepretations of the chemistry/relationship between both

It's been so long since I've seen this version that I forgot it was even changed in the new one. It's such a small but impactful way to show how E isn't awkward, but actively showing inner resilience and not wanting to conform or accept what people expect of her. You're right, the interpretations both show different sides to each of them :)

My biggest gripe intially with the film is how drawn out defying gravity is but tbh the stage play seem to equally milk it

That was my biggest concern when it was announced to be in two parts, but coming back to this it really does feel like we don't get enough time to sit with the characters. Getting to see more of Dillamond made the monkey scene and elphies reaction so much more impactful. Like other replies said tho, I wish they didn't drag out defying gravity as much as they did, that was the only part I felt like was too long. The pacing of it here feels more natural
